Is this oil OK?
...so I just had the one spanner service done by Chrysler here in Manchester, England. As I only recently bought the car; I wanted the peace of mind from having the service done by them so that I had some comeback should anything be amiss afterwards.
Anyway, all seems well however I asked what oil they'd used and they answered Mobil 1 0W 40 which is the right one, I believe. But he then said they'd left a new bottle of oil in my car - great I thougfht but it's not the Mobil 1, it's Penzoil (see attached pic)...
The questions I have are... is this oil any good? ... and is it possible they didn;t use Mobil 1 and used this cheaper stuff

I believe that is the spec that Chrysler has moved to since the announcement of the production pull of the 0W-40. Should still be just fine.
That oil is just fine. Guaranteed that is what they used as it is much cheaper than Mobil 1 (for them, anyway). But, it is another reason that I do my own oil changes so that I know exactly what goes into my engine.

Oh well
I love the pennzoil Platium euro 5w40 (they also have euro ultra). I had to go to a Pennzoil/Shell distributor to get mine. It is a much better oil for our Crossfires. The loud engine noize in the morning is now gone. The oil stays cleaner looking. And the engine in general is smoother.
