Coolant flush today
Did mine today for about $36 (2 gal anti-freeze & 6 gal distilled H20).
Tied it in with the Fall oil change and it was a breeze. Hardest part was finding a shop with the right G-05 antifreeze (NAPA).
Thanks for the pictorial & advice James1549.

I also installed a new thermostat when I changed the coolant in my '04 last month. I avoided the water spillage problem by taking the thermostat valve out of the old housing and installing the (now empty) housing back on the engine with a used radiator hose attached. This let me flush the system with the spillover discharged away from the engine. Makes the job a bit neater. As has been mentioned, Zerex G-05 coolant with distilled water is the only way to go.
You are gonna spill some antifreeze anyway, best to have the pan off so it doesn't collect.
Hi guys,
O.K. I'm new for doing this to an SRt 6. Can I just simply drain out the old coolant by pulling out the 'plug' you mentioned and pictured in the Srt 6? below the radiator, kinda like I read you did... and just fill it up again without changing all the thermostat and stuff? I got that coolant you mentioned too. How much coolant to distilled water? I live in the deep south of Savannah.... Everything you can guide me will certainly be appreciated!

Better late than never, I always say!
Done. I took the suggestion to core out the old t'stat and use it and an old chunk of hose to direct the block overflow away from the front of the engine and into the recovery bucket. Gotta' be green. When one can...
I flushed with nasty old hose water for 7-8 minutes and then switched over to 5 gallons of distilled (7-8 minutes) until gone. I'm cheap!
It's city water-not well water. Neutral pH. And that's what the issue is.
