Default Cup holder replaced with the bin

I had nothing to do so I finally replaced the cup holder with the bin. While I was at it I made a 'how to', it's been done before without pics. This was my effort.

I need to get around to this. My wife doesn't understand why she can't have her styrofoam drinks in my cup holder.

Thanks for the pictures explaining this process, need to do it, but have been putting it if for quite a while, MAY tackle it now.
This is what I call an "IDIOTS GUIDE" just what I need. LOL

Dave,

if you could: please add a warning to ROADSTER owners that on Step #6 they must be careful of the pneumatic line for the locking mechanism for the console lid-it is very short and the connectors are easily damaged.

Nice work, Old Timer!

Very nice DIY "How To" write-up.

Sorry Max, coupe owners think the world revolves around them.
Done.

I posted a few pictures on this very subject some time ago (March 25, 2010), search 180, search.

You post a few pics and refer to a post with no pics, I was the first responder in that thread and apologized for the fact there were no pics in the instructions.

I think I did my due diligence and then made a post on adding the bin with pics. Another similar thread is for a switch removal.

I make no claims for any brilliance in my 'how to', but how does it stand up to any of yours?

I just did it as I had nothing better to do, something like you now I guess.

Oh 180 you come up really fast, I claim no brilliance either nor am I guessing. You stated that no pictures had been posted on the subject and I had just begged to differ. That is all.

Larry, I looked at your pictures and as my SRT6 had a dodgy cup holder, (I had a replacement available) I was finally encouraged to undertake this task.
Whoops!!! on the SRT6 there is what appears to be a yellow fluid line???? that will not allow the center console to lift out. ??? There is a connection in the line, but don't know if disconnection will have any detremental effects, does anyone know if this disconnect is a problem???? What is this fluid line??? I ended up putting it all back, task STILL NOT done.

Max, That is the answer to the question I had. Does anyone know if there is a way of disconnecting this pneumatic line, so I can replace my cup holder.???

I replaced a cup holder for forum member here on a roadster, in a hotel parking lot. I recall the air line, but don't recall having to disconnect it. Maybe its been too long ago to remember.

Thanks for the info, I MAY try again next weekend. I was very reluctant to do this without further guidance from the forum. I wasn't even sure what this yellow line was.

This is from a post by pscalfa1, I cannot remember where I got mine from.

'The part number for the storage cup is 1BQ12XDVAA. A couple of good places to order parts (that I have found to be reliable) are http://www.newmoparparts.com/ and http://www.moparpart.com/ with both of them giving discounts on parts and accessories.'

Try this.
Mopar Parts for Dodge, Chrysler and Jeep: MoparPartsAmerica

Select Chrysler and enter this part number. 1BQ12XDVAA

you'll see;
OEM Catalog Item Number 1BQ12XDVAA BIN STORAGE

MSRP Core Price Price $74.10 = $53.34

Oh, and I have a cup holder already. Sell it and put the money towards the bin, but I like the cup holder as it does work but not on foam. LOL
