What controls the dome light in a convertible
What controls the dome light in a convertible
I have a 2005 LTD convertable and I took the dome light to take care of the TPMS and now I can switch the light on with the switch but it will NOT GO ON WHEN I OPEN THE DOOR!.
Makes no difference where the slider switch is it doesn't work.
Anyone got a suggestion?
Thanks David Woolrage _/)***

Re: What controls the dome light in a coonvertable
The CLPSSM ( central locking pump / security_system ) senses the door switches on pins :
16 - right door
14 - left door
( the CLPSSM is the thing buried under the trunk floor and wrapped in thick foam rubber )
It, in turn, communicates with the BCM ( body control module ) via a twisted pair CAN BUS.
The BCM then determines if a ground should be applied to pin 18 that connects to
pin 3 of the interior light switch ( the center position ) - Brown wire.
Fuse 9 supplies the B+ to the dome light and cargo light.
( The BCM is in the box by the battery, closest to the battery )

I do pay back quickly and with interest, but Alax's answer really did describe "what controls the dome light" - it ain't like a car from the 60's where you just had door switches the directly put a ground on the lamp!
Anyway, GG you still get the "psycho" label for your performance at last year's Dragon.
I know you are proud of THAT!

Yeah, I am... Just gimmie a turbo and watch out! Wooohoooooo... I am trying to talk Ray into fall dragon this year, I wish he would bring his vette, we put a supercharger in it (actually I only helped a very little) and its cranking 575 to the wheels... Yeah, I did give him a little jitters at the dragon last year...

Re: What controls the dome light in a coonvertable
I'm already scared!
Re: What controls the dome light in a coonvertable
I think MrM and his missus have had an argument and have resorted to conversing with each other on the forum. It is cheaper than through a lawyer that's for sure.
Wow this has got to be a first and we have a front row seat.
Who gets the oil well if they split up? My betting is on the missus, she's already had a Crossfire and a 'vette out of him this last few months. That did not work so the well is next.
I'm thinking Kellyville will soon be Splitsville.

LMAO.
You know. I think I already like Arrow Blue Girl (Mrsmiata) better than Mrmiata (Mr. Arrow Blue Girl).
Mr. Arrow Blue Girl has a ring to it doesn't it.....maybe it should stick.
