Just a foot behind the passenger rear wheel and slightly toward the front of the car. It is covered by a plastic shield, the fuel pump is beside it.

It's not actually "behind the passenger wheel", it's slightly in front of the wheel.

( score is now Dave : 45, me : 2 )

I believe he (180) means it is towards the center of the car about 12 inches at the rear passenger wheel (a foot behind the passenger rear wheel) and then slightly towards the front of the car.

All I know is, this "behind" and "slightly forward" kind of talk is confusing.

One day at work, one of the other guys was telling me where to drill holes in the trunk of a Crown Vic Police car - next thing I know - I have put two holes in the gas tank of a new car with less than 150 miles on it.

OK, pizza :

If you stand facing the dead center of the passenger side rear wheel with your toes touching the tire, hold your right arm out and draw an imaginary line down from your elbow. THAT'S WHERE THE FUEL FILTER HIDES !!!!

( I couldn't sleep last night thinking how easily confused you were by "behind" and "slightly forward", while realizing that you are allowed access to nuclear power plants .......)

Yep.. things that make you go "Hmmm"..

Another locating option.. remove tire.. replace with head up to shoulder deep.. look towards front wheel.. Bingo.. LOL

Known as the "Head up your... wheel well method".

BEHIND......SLIGHTLY FORWARD...... Man your imagination could run wild while thinking of Mark.... All in fun though, all in fun...lol.... I concur it is right rear just slightly forward and little behind the wheel, which would put you in the center...lol
