Crankshaft Position Sensor?
Re: Crankshaft Position Sensor?
So just wanted to close out this thread. Bought a new legit Bosch MAF sensor and found an old version of the Needswings CAI on Ebay for $300. 3 days in and no problems so far. I had to modify the MAF wiring just a little bit so the wires could reach to the housing.
Re: Crankshaft Position Sensor?
Nice insulation on the intake. I didn't cut that it was broken when I bought the car. I also had to get a new driveshaft and do some work to the differential. Someone thought this car was for drifting.
Re: Crankshaft Position Sensor?
Having similar problems. With check engine light on, I stopped by AutoZone and they told me the following.
P0335 crank shaft pos sensor A malfunction
P0175 bank 1 too rich
P0172 bank 2 too rich
P0221 peddle throttle position malfunction pending
Since I went with the NW CAI a few years back, I'm wondering if I need to put the stock on and take it to dealer as a wrap warranty. Any suggestions?

Re: Crankshaft Position Sensor?
Hmm.. I would think the codes..
P0175 bank 1 too rich
P0172 bank 2 too rich
Could be related to the CPS not firing as it should and creating a "rich" condition as far as the sensors are concerned..
Throttle pedal possibly from this too?
Now what an hour or more pulling the NW off..put stock back.. another hour putting NW back on afterwards..
Or spend 40 bucks and 30 minutes putting the new CPS in... Decisions Decisions ..
Not to mention time dealing with the dealer..

Eric, if you have not changed it, just order the Bosch, throw it in and see where you are. It may clear all your issues for under $50, I know the deductible is more than that...

Re: Crankshaft Position Sensor?
Very brief update. O'Reilly auto parts near me is off the trust list. Part had all kinds of scratches with rust on the end and asked them to order new. When's to pick it up and looks like same part but cleaned of scratches...I asked if they had another one to verify this was ordered part and it was only one in store. Since it didn't have order sheet and came out of bin, I'm sure they were trying to deceive. Turning to internet to order... Dang it.
Re: Crankshaft Position Sensor?
It had a lifetime as well, but not Bosch. The one at advanced is a limited lifetime form what I saw on-line last night, but I'm going there today as they have it in stock.
Re: Crankshaft Position Sensor?
Good luck, went through 4 of them from advanced auto before I was smart enough to order the bosch, problems gone. They were really good about returning them though, seems they have lots come back
Re: Crankshaft Position Sensor?
I'll be ordering a Bosch since this part was so incredibly easy to change out. Car working w/o check engine light.
