Default Programming Garage door opener

Found this on the MBUSA website. Best explanation I have seen so far. Works on our Crossfires.

Could not program my 2007 Crossfire Roadster to open my garage door till I found out if you have a newer garage door opener the procedure in the manual won't work. I found this on youtube and it works.

I just bought a new Chamberlain garage door opener (model c455 in Canada). Tried all the posted programming procedures but could not get the Homelink in my 2005 Crossfire to work with it. Turns out I had to buy the "Liftmaster 855lm Homelink Repeater Kit" to get it to work with the Security+2.0 technology of the door opener. Bought the repeater kit from Amazon and everything works great now.

Yea, that's part of owning a twelve year old car that was built with marginally-current technology at the time.
My house was builtin 1998 and the opener was easy to program. I moved to a Condo that was built in 2008 and had to go the long way around the mountain, same as you...

Guess I am just lucky, all three of my garage door openers are Genie and work fine with Homelink, It is just a multistep process which involves getting down a ladder very quickly.(convertible with the top down is easier). Just be aware that the Crossfire system is identical to a 1996-2004 Merc.

I think you are lucky to have a Genie, also, how old is the controller on the Genie?

I have two Chamberlains in Canada and the HomeLink instructions found in the electrical section in the Index of ..... in my signature worked well. You cannot skip any steps and you must follow the instructions to the letter. I did not need any new parts to get it to work, the Canadian openers use a slightly different system, nothing major though.

Does the factory garage door opener use a battery or is it hard wired to the car. I’ve got an 04 and I’ve tried everything but I don’t see any blinking lights as I attempt to clear and program the opener. Any thoughts?

Tried the link. No avail. Again most of the link/videos refer to some sort of blinking light within the car that confirms delation of old code and or readiness to receive new codes. Dispite every combination of buttons pushed/duration I don’t see any blinking lights. I’ve also tried the learn button and returning to car thing but again I seem to receive no feedback from the car or the garage door opener. This makes me wonder if the door opener( the car one) is defective some how. I have a chamberlain HD420EV. Garage door unit. [img]webkit-fake-url://882538d8-f870-4250-ae76-ce6f5c983e97/imagejpeg

I need an out side the box answer as I’ve chased down most available leads thanks again

Have you checked to see if your Homelink module in the car is plugged in? It's possible a previous owner may have disconnected it to disable the TPMS.

My TPMS is disabled per Rudy's instructions by moving a wire in the interior overhead light; My garage door opener works just fine.

This is what I have as seen upon disassembly. Nothing I’ve found as of yet exactly matches what all is being said about this process. Fyi this is an 04 not sure if that year was different
I don’t see six connectors or wires

This is all that’s hooked up to the garage thing

What you are looking for is jammed above the three buttons, at least it was in mine, covered in black foam as far as I recall.
I think you can vaguely see it in the middle pic.
