Hello All,

I have an 05 SRT Roadster and am considering changing the blower pulley for more HP. Has anyone changed that blower pulley? If so give me the details as to how and what to do. There is a fellow on Ebay in Texas that sells a 64mm pulley with a flash drive and another panel to upgrade the tuning. Has anyone tried that? If so did it work? I'm open to any and all suggestions. Thanks a bunch for any thoughts or ideas.

If you decide to go with a reduced supercharger pulley, avoid the aluminum, since several in the past years had imploded and caused major damage. If you decide to go that route, buy a steel one.
I would go with an ASP brand crank pully (177 cm's vs. the stock 155 cm's), virtually no failure rate, with the same results.
Use the SEARCH button and type in supercharger pulley or aftermarket crank pulley, you should find several threads about the subject.

Thank You. If I were to go with the supercharger pulley, do you have any suggestions as to where to acquire one? Also, what is entailed in the programing or tuning?

The attached link is extensive and time consuming to review since it dates back to 2012, including numerous responses, questions about the supercharger pulleys. It's not adding just a pulley, but all of the potential addons to complete the package.

if you,,, as i decided to buy the 177 lower pulley from Needswings,,, he has them, I also have a steel stock pulley that needeswings will turne down for me if i want it . do a search u will find lots of info on supercharge pulley

Josh Chase (Mercedes Swap Shop) is in so cal. Give him a call you could probably check out his TCU mods as well. Get your SRT6 4 mode sport shifting like the SLR McClaren has. No joke check his videos out on YouTube. Jim’s recommendation of having the stock pulley machined down is also pretty bullet proof. The only other company I know of that makes steel pulleys is MSC. They’re either Russian or Polish. They also have pulley’s made out of Titanium.

Hmmm...This is a lot more complex than I had thought it was to do. My car has 12k miles on it and is only driven on rare occasions. I had been considering selling it recently, but then got a hair up my hiny the other day when I took it for a ride. I had not driven it for a couple years and had forgotten how fun of a car it is. Then thought a little more zip might be in the mix.

But I think I may reconsider and leave it alone and maybe put it on the market.

The MSS tune is cheap, fast and will give you plenty of additional power without the pully change.

 

Do yourself a favour and forget the 62 and 65 mm pulleys. If you cannot forget them look back on the history of them. Do not buy a used one as the originals were *****, poorly made and poorly designed.
They were made for a quick buck.

I just check on line and found EuroCharge. Is this a viable option? Any feedback, experience or knowledge of them?

 

Thanks for the feedback. It sounds as if I would not be a buyer of the pulley change. Many negatives over the years. I don't want to compromise the reliability of the car. But the ECU change might be an option. Experience for that?

 

Just look up Mercedes Swap Shop on line. I believe it costs about 350.00 - 450.00
