Default Re: Crossfire Heating problems

Dear Forum members,

Thank you all for support and valuable answers - highly appreciate. Regarding heating I have disassembled duo valve and found that one of valve simply stacked - lubricant and some force help me solve issue completely and hope forever. However there is still problem with blower fan - it is operating as follow (no matter what regime is selected "HEAT" or "COOL"):

1. once start engine and turn on fan **** within 3 second fan begins to operate as normal
2. after 1 minute it is stops for next 5-10 minutes
3. operation return to normal for next 1 minutes and stops again for 5-10 minutes
4. after this "preheating" fan become working at normal (even if I turn off fan or turn off engine and then start it again)

it is seems that something should be "preheating" before normal operation. Could you please help?

Thank you
Iskender

Before we attempt to correct your heating problem, try this as a possible solution to your heating problem by taking these steps
  1. Start your car
  2. Adjust the interior heater controls to these settings
    1. Set the thumb wheels on the highest heat settings to maximum red
    2. Set the fan speed to maximum speed
    3. Exit the car and close the doors, do not open the windows
    4. Permit the car to run for 20-30 minutes
  3. After the run time, enter the car and turnoff all of the heater settings
  4. Adjust the heater controls to your normal settings and turn the heater to the #2 setting speed and see if the vents work properly
I hope this works for you; it has worked for me in the past...

While running with the 'big dogs" this past weekend, the HVAC system started acting up. Whenever I switched on the A/C, the wife got cold air on the PS, but I was still getting warm air on the DS. After a few minutes, I moved the temp wheel on the DS to maybe a midpoint setting, left it there for a few minutes and then returned it to the cold setting. I started to get cold air on the DS vents. Found your posts above & sounded like the issue I was having.

So today I started the car, put the HVAC system in the wide-open heating settings, got out & let the car run for 25 minutes with the windows up. When this was finished, I set the HVAC system back to max cool and the system performed just like it should have. Saved this in my Crossfire library for future reference. I figure this is a Preventive Maintenance task that I need to do every year or 2. After all, it's been 16 years since my coupe was born, 15 since I've owned it, and I haven't done this operating task until today!

Thanks, Dennis E.

Took the time over the past weekend to check the operation of the HVAC in the 2007 Coupe. System still performs like it's supposed to. Looks like the heater duo valves have been cleared of any blockage for now.
