There’s a spot behind the plate or you can mount to the deck lid

deck lid mount next to marker lights require drilling. If you choose this location drill around passenger side market

i Drilled the drivers and had to replace the lock mech because I broke the cam

when routing it into the cabin there a spot behind the passenger seat

There are several options to get from the passenger cabin to the trunk/wheel well area. If you drop the top then STOP and leave the lid up, you can see several paths you can exploit.
It's been four years since I wired my windrestrictor lights and two years since I put the radio (GMRS) in the top's trunk area - then ran wires to the cabin.

If you find it THAT hard, I can take some pictures of where my cables run - but puttting the top down and leaving the lid up, you can see there are several ways of getting wires into the cabin.
The trim in the door way pops off easily and you can hide wires under the carpet then up behind the dash and over to the console. Ya gotta teat stuff out a lot, but it's not really hard -just takes some time.
