Default Interior Left handle Not Operating

Hi. I was working on the door speaker and when I reassembled the door, the handle now doesn't work. When I pull it, there is no resistance and seemingly no action on the cable to open the door. I've checked and both ends of the cable seem to be properly connected. It seems like there is slack in the cable, but how would the cable be stretched. Any insight? TIA. Shea.

The cable is not routed correctly. You missed something. look at the pictures here on the forum. Open the door panel up and route the cable correctly. picture here is another open door

I'm still at a loss. Can anyone tell how the door opening cable maught be routed incorrectly to cause the door lever to not engage the cable? Thanks!

There are plastic connections at both ends; Hopefully neither are broken. Did you watch both videos all way through?
If the FOB with it's air pressure ~ vacuum system and the key inserted into the drivers outside lock BOTH work correctly it would seem you do not have the cable run correctly. If either of the two lock/unlock ( FOB and key) do not work then there may be an internal problem with the locking mechanism.
That is unlikely if all was working before you removed the door panel.

As long as the panel is removed you should reinforce the pull handle before completely reinstalling the door panel. pull reinforecment GO TO POST #80 Thanks John!

Good Luck.

The right side of the cable does not appear to be connected?

Correct. I will reconnect when I put the cover back on.

Zip439 is referring to the "How to" posts that I make when I repair my car. It's not videos it's a step by step with detailed pictures and information.
Reinforcing the door handles before they break is important. The plastic is getting older and eventually they will fail.
Here is the direct link to the post Zip was talking about: Inner door pulls reinforcement
