Default Track day in the wet... it was...

Went on an open pit track day at Oulton Park race track today .... what a great experience, especially in the torrential rain!

The Crossfire really impressed me, what a great car.

Having only had the Crossfire a couple of weeks I was looking forward to seeing what the car could really do. The car handles so well and after getting to know the track and the racing lines with the help of one of the track professionals, I was rewarded with an exhilarating day.

Just before lunch the heavens opened and it began raining heavily. In preparation for the day I had just had a new set of four Avon tyres fitted..... how did they perform? Fantastic. The grip of the car was amazing considering the conditions and whilst other cars were spinning off, left, right and center the Crossfire went from strength to strength, never once letting go.

This little car not only looks fantastic it is also so rewarding to drive. I am surprised just how much this car is growing on me.

No one asked me what it was but but I can tell you it surprised a lot of the 'petrol heads'. I do use the term loosely as there were quite a few 'kn** heads' out on the track. I think a few people were caught out by just how good the Crossfire was on the track and especially in the rain.

My son has just got a new iphone and took a video clip, unfortunately he was playing with its functions, so managed to get a clip with an artistic slow motion effect on it!

Just seen myself on another drivers video of the day, quick clip.

Being my first time out I was letting the more experienced drivers past whilst I got used to the car and track. The track is about 2.7miles in length and over the day I think I must have done a good 40 laps. You could have done double that if you wanted. Great value for money and lots of fun.
