Default Made a battery Boo Boo

My old battery died on me so I decided to buy a new one from ebay. The old onw was 72ah so I decided to get an 80ah batery. The battery I ordered would supposedly (according to ebay) fit my 2005 Crossfire Roadster but when I tried to fit it,it is about 1 inch too long to fit in position and I tried all ways to ftit without success.
I have contacted seller but if he wants me to send it back it will cost half of what the battery is worth, that's if I can find a delivery firm to send it with?

I await the sellers reply with baited breath?

Just create a case with eBay and you should win and they will send a label. Don't buy used or online car batteries.

I use eBay a lot but I see no reason or advantage to go to eBay for a car battery. I think you are having a "Dr Phil" moment. I can hear him now: "And how did that work out for you?"

I've bought the H6 &/or Group 48 battery (Crossfire spec) from Walmart in the past, getting their EverstartMax. Last time I looked in the local Walmart, battery was $149-$150, which is a good price. Just about any Auto Parts store will handle the battery. And sometimes you can get a good buy at local Sam's Club or Costco, if one is close. BatteriesPlus also handles lots of car battery sizes. The last battery I got for my Crossfire came from local O'Reilly's Parts Store (nearest parts store for me). Probably will be where I get future batteries for the Crossfire.

And I don't buy the AGM design battery, as I don't think the extra cost is worth it. Just about any car battery is only good for 4-5 years in a Crossfire. Holds true for most vehicles that have significant power needs. (Note: FYI - There are only a handful of manufacturing firms of car batteries; can't remember you they are but others may chime in. They have contracts with various retailers that sell batteries.) Here's link to an article I found some months back: CLICK.

Good luck with your eBay return claim.

Ebay has a process that you can return an item but only if the item has the 'Moneyback guarantee' or the battery is significantly unable to fit the application for which the seller stated it would. The battery for our crossfires calls for has a certain size requirement (LxWxH, and group size already mentioned in this post), with a terminal post outlay (POS at firewall towards center of vehicle) so if any of this is out of a battery sold for a crossfire, you have a case that will normally get your money back from the seller ON HIS DIME for shipping. Now, the ONLY difference is IF you and the seller agreed to certain things before the purchase, that MIGHT be a wrench in the plan to return it. Also, IF you knew the battery was not the battery listed for the car in the auction, you may have a problem winning the case if you open one. Good luck!

More battery woes. The other battery as returned to the suppliers depot (A 30 mile each way drive) and a creditnote was given. I have been assured the money I paid will be returned to my bank in a couple of days. The reason I had to reurn it physically was that Ebay had listed it as being suitable for my car, but the battery supplier hadn't and coudn't take responibility for ebay saying it was suitable. I was given a delivery sticker to send it but Royal Mail classeit as unsuitable for delivery.
I bought another Excide battery which is 77ah and fitted it. It's been fitted about a week and has started every day until today. It is very frosty here but on turning the ignition key......yada......no ignition lights or anything?I can only asume that something is fraining the battery and I am beginning to wonder whether I changed the battery needlessly.I presume the flashing red light when the battery was ok is an alarm or imobiliser and wonder whether this is draining the battery?
If the car isn't frozen up in the morning I may take off the new battery again and give it a charge.Even if I can get it strted again I appear to have an ongoing problem? I have another small car which sits outside in all weathers and starts first time every time. Luckily this has been a useful backup or else I would have been stuck at home! It's got me flummoxed????

Have you disconnected or removed the alarm siren? They short out. Also, did you clean the battery terminals real good and are they tight?

In the short term I have taken the battery back off and I am charging it up. I have also removed fuse 9 to see if it sorts the parasitic draw. It's too cold out to do much else at the moment.

I believe the process in on U-tube. You remove the cowl in front of the windshield and just unplug it. You can completely remove it is you like. It has internal batteries and as they age they leak acid, short out and drain the vehicle battery. The procedure is fairly simple.

It's not a hard job too do. Just take your time. Clean the drains while you have the cowl off.
Here's the video:

JUst a quick update. It took two days to re-charge the new batterry so it must have been totally flat?. I took the fuse 9 out and it has been fine since. We have had some of the coldest weather in our history, down to minus 14 degrees at one point. I started by starting car and giving it a run each day buti t's been a few frozen days lately. Started and ran today no bother so hopefully should be ok until the weather warms up and I am able to make a more permanent solution.
