Question Balancing wheels with spacers

Ok, here. I hope, is a new one.

If you have spacers on your wheels, Should they be in place when balanced on a spin-type balancer?

Not a expert but you balance the wheels to get all those odd weights of formed rubber and metal wheels balanced out to a nominal/optimal point. The hub spacer is a machined part that can be turned true and balanced pretty darn tight.
I would say no, you dont have to have the hub in the balancing process. It would be interesting to see if they would do it with and without the hub. Imperical data is great!

The spacers are so close to the center of the rotating mass they won't have an affect on wheel balance. In other words balance the wheels normaly without the spacers.

I have to say no as well. Way to close to the center and by using hub-centric spacers, they will be true and a perfect fit.

The best balance available (to my knowledge) is an "on the car balancer".

It is a machine that balances the tire on your car which should give you a complete balance job.

See this URL for a machine that is used by shops for on the car balancing;
