Default 17 and 18 inch wheels

I am thinking of changing my wheels to 17's and 18's. What do you guys think of this wheel? I can get these in 17x8 and 18x9.5 If I did this I would run my existing 265 40 18 rear tires with 235 45 17's in the front. I have been interested in this combination for a while and think they will show my new brakes nicely. Anybody have photo shop to show me what they might look like on a SSB coupe?

no good at photo shop but yes you need to show those calipers.

i am worried about the 17" for calipers and since i would like 345mm rotor and don't you want those disc for the v8 in the future

i like the thought of the price of the tires but i think 18's in your favorite rim would be ideal combo to run and give you a nice wide footprint to grip and spread all the weight of the v8 up front.

Very nice choice. If you get the correct back spacing,I may also have to buy a set. No spacers for me!Squirrel Crusher

I have 18's all around now with 8's up front and 9's in the rear. MB wheels usually have about 35mm offsets which matches what we need in the front but our cars have 22mm offset in the rear. to get the wheels out where they look best and like stock you need 10mm spacer. Spacers are not a bad thing at all if you get the ones that are machined for a Mercedes that are hub centric. I have never heard of anyone having issues with the correct hub centric spacers and correct length lug bolts. On the other hand if you use the cheap Pep boys universal spacers you are taking your life in your hands.

17" wheels will fit over the 345 or the 330mm rotors. It is the shape of the spokes that are important to clear the outer side of the caliper. I think these wheels would fit over the calipers.

you probably won't need a spacer or maybe a 5mm one at the most.
