New Wheels, TPMS Success Rate?
What is the success rate of all four sensors working as should when mounting new rims/tires/sensors (all OEM new)? In other words, can I expect the new sensors to calibrate and "talk" to the car without incident or will I likely need a visit to the dealershiop where I understand a very quick re-set of the TPMS is done?

Iam taping my light over, gave up, the changin to slicks and back never allowed the car to reregister. Tried many attempts with magnets, odbII and even one shop.
To me it is not important as I check tires every time I remount the street wheels 2x or 3x a month. The cost of replacing the sensors in the event the battery goes potty is not worth it anyway, Iam used to checking and can tell by eye if there is a real problem.
Just me Woody

I had four new tires put on. I took the wheel/tires to the tire shop without the car. No problem, no light once I put them back on.

If you put new sensors in like I did, you'll have to take it in. I was quoted 110 bucks, so I used a small, black sticker instead. I check my pressure manually any way.

I did some research on the internet and learned about the two methods used for TPMS, Direct and Indirect. Crossfires use the Direct method and when the sensors are replaced, a DRBIII tool is used that hooks up to your OBDII port. The new codes transmitted from the new sensors are then entered into the ECU so that they get recognized. I would think anybody with a '04/'05 Crossfire will have failed batteries soon and that the sensors will have to be replaced.
Or you could just remove the bulb from the instrument panel.
Today the local Chrysler Dealership re-set my wheel sensors using a DRBIII Scanner plugged into the OBDII port. Essentially telling the ECU that four new sensors have been installed and they can be identified with the new codes that the tehnician then inputs. Total time; 20 minutes, no charge.
The technician told me that the new Chrysler Vans have sensors that re-set themselves. Personally I like what I have been reading about the indirect method of sensing pressure. No batteries and no visit to the dealership when new are installed.
