I drove around for 30 minutes on all types of roads and did a few panic stops. NO RUBBING! No marks on the tires or fenders. The real test will be on Sunday at the track. Based on what I've not seen, any contact will be minor. Fingers are crossed.

WOW!!! That looks fantastic! One of the top 3 crossfire's I've ever seen. And that's saying something!

Wow! Thanks for the positive feedback. I have to give credit to the search engine and early wheel pioneers. But I may be the first to stuff an 18x9 on the front. Now it remains to be seen if a wide rim with the smallest recommended tire for said rim will result in a properly supported tire and therefore faster track times and longer tire life. Not to make light of the fact that Forgestars look sweet. As you know, the buying experience was poor. I don't know what went wrong but something went way wrong. I was billed half when I placed the order and the other half and shipping on the 11th of february. The rims shipped on the 5th of march. WTF!! They told me they were awaiting final payment in march! I don't have the whole story and but it really doesn't matter. I'm happy with the wheels and fitment.

I'm sorry you had such a poor vendor experience with them. I wish I would have known before you ordered them, I would have suggested a vendor that has a really good rep on MBWorld.org with selling and delivering the Forgestars. The only reason I would have recommended him, is because he is who I'm in the processing of ordering mine through.

Can't wait to hear/see the new track times. I think you'll be quicker especially since you took 5lbs of unsprung weight out per corner...with the new wheel/tire combo.

Les, they look even BETTER than I thought they would. I've been a long time fan of the Forgestars, but these look absolutely superb.

Today I removed the Forgestars to check for problems and cleaning. I got the scale to work so here are the weights.
Stock front rims with 225/40/18 worn Yokohama's 46 lbs.
18x9 Forgestars with 245/35/18 Kumho's 46.8 lbs.
Stock rear rims with 255/35/19 worn Yokohamas 52.1 lbs.
18/10 Forgestars with 275/35/18 Kumho's 49.4 lbs.

With the new combination I cut 4 seconds off my lap times in Ponce. 1:34.5 to 1:30.5 and I need to change up the alignment based on the pyrometer readings. I think I can take a few more seconds off when I feel confident in these new tires. You know, I think I sold 3 sets of Forgestars to my fellow racers. They loved them. The more I get used to them the more spectacular ..... and correct they look on my Crossfire. I'm a happy camper!

Very nice Les. I bet if you went with stock sizes all the way around you would have saved even more weight. Very impressive. The new laps times are even more impressive.

Yes, but I would favor a few extra inches of rubber on the ground for bite than to save a half pound or so...

Oh I completely agree. Then again I think more in straight lines than Les' twisties...

This will be my first year for SCCA competition with the new(ish) coupe and I am trying to do everything I can to make her run around a track well, hence why I follow Les' threads so well
