12.0 is the largest u can fit under the fender 305 35 18 with a 9" rim with a two inch lip and 40 et.(offset) and they may rub,, but with a 9,10,11" rim with a 3 to 4" lip letting the tire stick out from under the car it would work. this is for the rear not the front.
Yes, but it is still a mind boggeling to think what that much tire would look like under the car when seen from behind.....
I will stick with a 285 or 275 when I wear out the 255 Kumho's..

Yes, 295's will fit the stock rim but it is not recommended. I put 275-30's and tire rack recommended at least 9 1/2 wide rims as a minimum so I am sure that you should have wider rims for 295's. Tire rack has a chart with each brand that matches tire size with min and max rim width. You have to be careful when purchasing wider rims to get the right offset. I also added .83 in spacers to widen the track width.
Was wondering if i could put a set of corvette rims on the car, the front rims are 18 x 8.5" and the rear are 18 x 10" will that work? and wht kind of tires would i have to run those rims?
nope, those have a 5x120 bolt pattern, you need a 5x112
There are several online resources for 5 X 112 to 5 X 120 wheel adapters, but be warned that most are 1.25" thick ( 31.75 MM ). I did see one listing at 15 MM, but that is probably pretty near the limit on strength.
At any rate, you will be looking at additional wheel offset, so make sure what you intend to install will fit.
NOTE: This is for information purposes only, IMHO this is NOT a good idea.

225/60r17 are about 1.5" taller then ours but with a narrow tire on the back u will prolly burn it off. not to mention skiny tires would look bad on the back. just got my 275/35zr19 G-max's mounted on today
if you really want to use a 17" tire here is the correct one for our car.
stock front is 225/40-18 @ 8.9 sw,,3.6 h,, 25.1 tall
the rear 255/35-19@ 10.0sw, 3.5 h , 26.0 tall
the 17" to use is front 205/50-17 is 8.1 sw 4.0 h 25.1 tall or 225/45-17 8.9 sw 4.0 h 25.0 tall
for the rear 255/45-17 10.0 sw 4.5 h 26.0 tall or 215/55-17 8.5 sw 4.7 h 26.3 tall
for a wider rear, 285/40-17 11.2 sw 4.5 h 26 tall
I am running 285/35-19 ,,11.2 sw 3.9 h 26.9 tall, hope this helped you ,,
Oh This is the third time i posted this info on high of tires that will fit. jim
Edit: the 225/60-17 is 8.9 sw 5.3 h 27.6 tall it will not fit into the wheel well.
