Lightbulb Adapter Lug Bolts To Studs?

Has anyone made or heard of an adapter (like a spacer plate) that would bolt onto the hub and have on it studs, to convert the bolt type of wheels to lugnut type? I see a lot of people using spacers on their wheels for different size tires and wonder if they can be converted to lug bolts so we can use lugnuts to mount our wheels. Its one of those ideas that might sound simple, but not possible to do because of the stressors put on any type of adapter manufactured. It is real late, and I'm in one of my sleep deprived states, please be 'easy' on me. Just a thought?

I see them on Ebay quite often - but dunno about using them personally.

These may be perfectly safe but I never liked them the first time I saw them years ago. Just my opinion and you won't ever find them on my car. Seems like a lot stress on such a small hub. I prefer the spacers that require the lug bolt to go all the way thru them into the hub. Again as I said, just my preference.

GG, I know they make a threaded length of steel you can screw into our hub with an adhesive and then use lug nuts to put the wheels on, I have seen other enthusuast communities swap from the studs to lugs, just never really researched it for the XF - but have been interested with the amount of wheel changes I do every year.

This is just an example for Audi and Porsche, but you get the point...

I have been autocrossing with them with 9"x17" mustang wheels and NO issues, work fine, just a lot to swap on and off if going back n forth. Woody

I just had a flashback of leaving my friends house a few years ago in the "ghetto" , walking down the alley and seeing an old pick up truck with a flat tire in the middle of the alley, blocking it. We walked over and his front left and rear right tire were slashed and the lug nuts were welded to the rim. I felt really bad for the guy (who was nowhere to be seen) but I could not contain the laughter that proceeded.

Back to the topic at hand.... I would do as others stated (if I were to ever do this), and be very weary for the first grand on the clock, listening to every little noise.

MadMed has the type of studs that are screwed into his stock hubs on his Crossfire coupe.... no additional spacers.... but he will need new hubs if he ever wanted to go back......

I like the idea of the lug nuts, I guess you tighten the lug bolts through the spacers onto the hub, then torque to 81 ft/lbs, how much are the lugnuts torqued to? Will the wheel actually ride on that center ring (the OEM doesn't ride on a ring they just move all over until you bolt em up). So, thats about 8 questions in this query. So far so good, especially if they work, don't hit the fenders (tire) and don't stick out too far.
Can't be of help on the rest.. but ever notice how your tire/wheel will sit exactly in the same spot when all the bolts are out? Hubcentric...

GG, these you are talking about are actually spacers, so yes, they are going to push the wheels out. If you want it to stay stock except to be using lug bolts instead of studs, you need to do something just like the conversion I posted above...

GG, these are not for the xf. Studs are too short for the xf mag wheel and has tapered seat. The xf spacer must have ball seats, ball nuts and studs should stick out at least 60mm.

Here's a guy you might want to talk to about this. He is claiming to be able to build to your specs:

I used bolts that were made for a BMW to convert over to lug nuts. They have an allen head at the end and all you do is throw a little lock tight on them and turn them in. Now they are a pain in the *** and like to come out when there is oxidation on the lug nuts. I'm happy with it though and allowed me to run my spacers and open ended lug nuts. Been this way for a year now.

Then I will have to make sure the lugnuts are conical, and the bolt part doesn't protrude past where the cap snaps on.
Read Turbomar's post above your last post. Ball type seats on the Crossfire unless you have new wheels that take conical.
