Last year after purchasing my low mileage 06 Crossfire, I was asked by a forum member what kind of fastener was in the front and center hole of the splash shield as his was missing. None of my Crossfires have a fastener in that hole. An expandable push plug would work there. The picture above that Valk shared shows another low mileage example that does not have a fastener in it.
I suppose DaimlerChrysler determined it was not required, and I would agree, and that would save 50 cents in parts and labor costs on each car not to put one there.

My SRT does not have one, maybe it did once though. The same problem arose when I tried to insert a fastener, the gap was too large.
