Help with brake light switch
Hello All
hope someone can help with this one ,I am working on a 2005 crossfire
it has many faults
main concern is brake light don't work.i have dropped lower panel
to find switch has already been replaced
also only two wires going to it .the switch is in N/C position
so presume cuts a signal to engine ECU
can not find another plug anywhere near the switch that will
fit .even though the switch has an extra 5 terminals with nothing going to them
as no brake light car will not come out of park
Is the brake switch built into the brake servo
as they are on Mercedes ml.s

Look at the wiring diagram in the Service Manual which you can download from the thread called Documentation or from the link in my signature.
You can use a pen in the gear shift to get the car out of PARK as shown in the Owners Manual can also be downloaded from the above noted thread.
The N/A and the SRT6 make different connections at the brake light switch
Click on this link for info and pictures : same switch, different connections

Fixed
after hours off testing
finally traced fault to rcm module
had previously taken out and totally resolder board
fault with car
wont crank
wont come out of park
no brake lights
no VOLTS coming out of plug c pin 5
on rcm even though relay pulls in
I bypassed rcm with external relay
starts every time .brake light work and can get out of gear
so check VOLTAGE at plug c pin 5 red green
this feeds gear shift
I had no symbol on dash to tell me what gear selected
hope this helps someone in the future
and no I don't own a crossfire
just got talked into looking at it
as Mercedes didn't want to look at it
