Default New Tire Sensors: Low tire pressure light stays on

Just purchased Four New Tries and Sensors at Discount Tire, but the Low tire pressure light stays on, even after driving from Fort Worth to Dallas, and back.

Is there a step that must be done after these are installed?

I just ran into this same problem. I was driving, and the tire pressure light came on, so I pulled over. I checked the tire pressure. I found that they had too much air in the tires. The pressure should have been 36, but it was 42. I am not sure whether the sensor indicates a problem, but after waiting overnight for a cold reading, I reset the pressure and have not had a problem since.

You get a warning light for high or low pressure. Did they program the sensors for your car?

I would seriously doubt that Discount Tire had the capability to program the new wheel sensors to the TPMS Module. They could have copied the wheel sensor IDs over to the new sensors, but they needed to make sure to have new wheel sensors in exactly the same location that the old wheel sensors were located (ie., LF to LF, RF to RF, LR to LR, RR to RR). Very few tire centers have the DRB tooling/software to re-program new wheel sensors on a Crossfire. And most Chrysler dealers have gotten rid of the DRB Scanner Tool. You might want to call around at the Chrysler dealerships in your area & see if one still has the factory tooling. Some independent Mercedes-Benz Service Centers might have the DRB/III tooling since they can service the Crossfire. Use this link to look around: CLICK.

Another Option - You may want to see if a Crossfire Forum Member is located close to you that has the DRB/III software capability. That member could align the wheel sensors to the TPMS Module & clear the Tire Pressure warning Light.

Discount Tire does NOT have the capability to program the new wheel sensors to the TPMS Module

Were the sensors still working when replaced? If they were they should have cloned them. Any tire shop should be able to clone them. I would call them they should still have the old sensors (usually have recycle bin for them). If the battery in the sensors were dead (was TPMS light on dash on) cloning is not possible. I would also ask for refund of some kind if they cannot clone them. If they cannot clone them or program new ones you just paid over $200 for new sensors for no reason. They are supposed to be experts in tires and tire systems. Hopefully you can locate someone that can program the new sensors (if they installed correct sensors). If not, you can always disconnect the warning light that runs through the dome light. You can find out how to disconnect the wire in index of problems and repairs. GOOD LUCK

I called and they said to stop by, and they will reset them, we'll see,
otherwise, it was $200 for four useless sensors, and the laptop rubber foot goes back over the light.

The XF TPMS is more trouble than it's worth. Disable the TPMS and buy a tire pressure guage, not trying to be a smartass here.

To disable the TPMS, watch this:

You can go here: https://www.schradertpms.com/en and enter your car info, and it will show you not only which TPM sensor works for your car but also which tools can be used to program them.
Read through this post: https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...ms-issues.html
There are two very good PDFs on the TPMS; Clint's is very informative.
