I discovered my Varta battery had fill holes! Imagine my surprise after 20+ years of my cars using fully sealed batteries. So, it was rather nostalgic to remove the caps and see that the water was kissing the tops of the cells (way low). So now it's nicely topped up between min and max fill with distilled water. Also filled the windshield washer fluid since the filler is right next door to the battery.

Most of those batteries that seemed to have no fill holes did in fact have them. If a battery has a fluid electrolyte in it then it can loose fluid and require refilling, no refilling and the battery will be toast too soon. Fluid loss is greater in the hotter climates to the South.
So called no maintenance batteries are often really low maintenance batteries. The battery companies love to sell you a new one when you have neglected to look after your old one.
Keep the electrolyte up to the bottom of the fill hole using distilled water.

If it is sealed then obviously you cannot fill it.

So, what was the point of your reply to me. Please don't bother responding to any of my posts anymore.

Because you have not been studying the batteries for the last 20 years.
You can rest assured that I do not normally bother with D1ck heads.

Weather prediction thru the coming weekend is fair skies and "fall-like" temperatures (mid-70's). Looks like we're taking a road trip this weekend! I'll uncover the XFire tomorrow AM & prep her for cruising in & around the Upstate.

I probably check the fluid levels in the Varta battery every six months or so (yes, I still have the original battery in the car!). I also put a charger on the battery every 9 months or so. Probably only put 3-4k on the ODO each year. Car is really a "weekender" for us, so it's not driven much. Last time I looked, had only about 16k on the ODO.

I bought a new Kenwood radio system to replace the factory. Super excited! Marine version to keep silver color integrity.
Then going to try the scratch remover to work on some scratches

I have the same issue. Is 200 bucks a good price to replace the leaking valves if you can't do it yourself. I definitely smell that burnt oil smell

$200 is a scoshe high. Id say more around $80 - $100.
All the parts required is a tube of RTV and some cleanup stuff.
The cleanup is 95% of the job.

Not to be nosy, but why is it that you can't do it yourself and use the $200 to come and play with us at the Dragon ?

I don't believe so, considering both pre-cut gaskets together cost me $30 and about 30-45 minutes of my own labor. Shop is probably doubling the part cost for overhead and charging an hour of labor if you're paying $200.
