Have you had the PCM scanned for fault codes?

Could be a failed SKREEM module.

Thanks!

Today I was ablento wire thr mirrors back in so I can have full control over them. I was able to wire them with an LM298N and 2 relays. The LM298 has 2 channels and allows me to run them both simultaneously. This allows me to bring both of the mirrors down at the same time when I am backing up or have a car with bright headlights behind me. I plan to make them automatically tilt down when I put it in reverse and bring them back to the original location (dead reconing through time).

I still need to 3d print a housing but I taped it together for now during testing. I made the power for everything (IDrive ****, driver and relays) come directly off of of the mirror connector so it is basically plug and play. All I have to do is plug the mirror connector, USB for the touch and CAN to get everything going.

Sometimes I think I over complicate this car but that's half the fun 🙃

I almost want to bring it to the dealer one day just to see their faces when they see the amount of wiring in this car 😅

Finally moved the car to its winter position in the garage, I’ll pump up the tires tomorrow and put the cover on it.

Hadn't really done anything to my 2007 Coupe the past couple of days, except protect it from winter storm front coming through. But thought it would be interesting to post that Robbinsville, NC reported 12-15 inches of snow in the past 24-hr period! Now that is a snowfall anywhere!!

Today i just started the long process of getting my car ready to paint. The last person who had it did a bad job . I'm still not sure what color im going with. Thinking about Alabastor white or Oyster gold. Ill have plenty of time before im ready to paint to decide.

If you are doing a color change I would suggest considering something unique that would stand out rather then a factory color. If a factory color happens to be what you like best then of course that is the best choice for you. I had my 1967 Ford Mustang Coupe painted the bright yellow of a 2004 Nissan Xterra and I’m having my 1960 Thunderbird painted ultraviolet metallic with a pearl white top. Considering the cost of a complete paint job and color change I would not want to limit myself to a color found on hundreds or thousands of the same model car.

Just don't get caught thinking you're limited to colors Chrysler has previously selected. When you hand over the upcharge fee for Designo paint at Mercedes-Benz they tell you they can match the paint color of any car model back to the 1950's!!! That's ANY color; not just a Mercedes one. I'd choose a manufacturer color only because when your car gets dinged in the future anybody can match the color for a repair.

Started experimenting with hydrodipping for my first time. Had a couple minor imperfections but I am happy with the way they turned out so far. Sprayed a 2K clear coat over it to give it a nice shine. Going to reassemble tomorrow after everything dries

This looks really good

Where are the imperfections? High points?

What’s the hardest step in the process

scale of 1-10?
1= easy
10= don’t try this at home

Thanks! it makes me feel better if you can't see them that easy 😁

There are two tiny black spots where the dip film ripped when I was rinsing it. One below the passenger window button and one at the top part of thr AC controls. Everything came out nice and smooth with no high points because I used heavy coats of the clear coat.

I would give this a 4. Its not too difficult but you have to make sure you are in a well ventilated area. I was using a paint booth with the fans on max and a mask and the 2k clear coat fumes still got to me some. You don't want to breathe that stuff in.

I would say the hardest part is thr actual dipping when I was doing the bigger items. You just want to make sure you are on a 30ish degree angle and take your time when dipping it in the tank.
