Philippians 1:3. I can't say it more simply than that. Few groups will drive so far to spend time with each other as often as they can.... and deeply miss those who cannot make the trips. This is a family.
Thanks,

Two down and two to go...thanks to all who led me by the hand in installing my rear Eibachs and adjustable camber arms.
Steve
Brian
MikeR
George (Offered to come down or let me use HIS garage!)
DownwardSpiral
Howard
And everyone else for their time and thoughts.
I pre-loaded the camber arms to 3/16" extension to offset the excessive camber I started with. I haven't driven it yet-I cleaned all of the rear chassis components and it started raining when I was letting the the jack down after taking the stands out. Go figure.
Started with ~3-31/2 fingers of rear gap. Now it's ~ 2 fingers and looks great. Even Tina can notice it! Top of the tires are now closer to the top of the fender (tipped out more) due to reduced negative camber. Went great. First side ~ 3 hours. Second side 1 hour. I could now install rear springs in my friggin' sleep.
I guess it's because I have to figure out everything before I tear into it. A-R is me.
I now have ~ 3 fingers of Highland Park single malt by my side.
And after a shower, I do believe I'll have another...

I thank everyone on this forum for helping me with what has become my 2nd major problem with my XF.
The first being the oil sensor. Instead of $700 at a dealer, I spent $300 and had a friend work on it.
This is such a helpful site I'd likely buy another XF just for how helpful everyone is.
Thank you!
Linda

Well, another year has passed since my last thankgiving post...The Good Lord gave me another year to pester the rest of you....recently, Rudy has come again to my rescue, so a big thanks to him, and Rob as usual taking care of my parts needs and fairly I might add....Gary for loaning out his garage...and his misses for putting up with us....Time seems to slip by so fast, and we should be thankful for the time we have, but with fellow car nuts like we have here, it passes with fun...
Happy ThanksGiving everyone here at the XF.org Forum!
Hope every one has a thankful celebration with your loved ones!
I am very thankful for this forum and information, entertainment it provides.

Edit: also, many THANKS to those who have seemed to have cleaned up the Spam-Bots! :-)

This quote seemed appropriate for this thread
On this forum he goes by sk8erjosh09, but his name is Josh.
What an absolutely great guy. He got off of work and called me and spent over an hour explaining to me step by step how to wire my after market head unit up, without the preouts so I could get the maximum volume and ultimate flexibility in the rears and fronts.
Josh was so patient and totally dismantled his head unit and amp so he could walk step by step with me on where all of the wires go. He broke things down in such an elementary fashion that I came away actually believing I was an audiophile.
I also want to thank RL for his guidance and instruction in one of my earlier threads on these same matters.
This is on of the best forums I have been a part of and I am amazed at the consideration and great treatment all of the forum members show one another. I have only owned my car for three weeks and I hope one day I can contribute and be on the giving side so I can return the many favors I have received from all of you.

We should all be proud to have Josh ( sk8erjosh09 ) as a member.
I vote we give him a promotion, or Valk/FP : bump his post count by a 1000 or so .....

Agreed.. you never know .. that one phone call could have been a good 200 post before all was said and done! I know I studied the wiring information on here for quite a while before upgrading mine.. the simplicity of "normal" install keeps trying to surface while decoding ours.. LOL.

In each case, I printed out the Crossfire HU to AMP page from the manual's PDF, then the wiring for each unit from the owner's manual. I taped them together and connected all the dots before going to the workbench with each radio and the Crossfire Schoshe adapter cable.
Always worked for me !
But anyways, +1 to Josh, "he da man !"
Thanks VALK for putting that up!
I am cool with that!!!!! lol
It probably would have been at least that many posts lol. And I agree, it should be straight forward like everyone thinks, but we all know Mercedes and there approach to straight forward LOL.
Thats what I had to do, study, study, study.
And thanks! I try lol.

I have tried 3 different aftermarket HU's in mine : Alpine, Sony, Blaupunct
