Default Replacing Stereo... Easy?

I just bought an '06 Conv. XF. How easy is it to rip out the old unit and replace with a newer stereo? Actually looks like quite a task. Also has anyone replaced their manual seats with power seats?

Thanks in advance!!!

There are oodles of threads here about replacing all or part of the sound system. Look down in the "Audio-Video" forum - I've never attempted it, but it's not all that hard.

Im not enough of an audio nut to sacrifice the factory appearance.

"Just" swapping Head Units isn't a problem.. Wiring harness adapter and antenna adapter.. pull yours out.. secure the new units sleeve as best as can (Clarion unit I bought wouldn't line up for the push-lock tabs..added small screw in top corner).. If you want to break it out to four channel (left-right front rear control) then you do add some time and effort to things.

Sounds like you have "base" model, (no amp) I have a base and it's easy. I put in a Pioneer unit.

LOL.. manual seats slipped right by me.. Does the base model break out front-rear channels by chance in the harness even though the HU doesn't have the feature?
