Thanks!

Tons of threads on this lol, just use the search function at the top right while in the audio, video and electronics tab - - just type subwoofers

I will say though, that nobody seems to have found a perfect fit with a perfect sound to replace the originals. Everyone seems to have had to modify the bracket, compromised on # of coils, compromise on RMS specs, or comrpomise on bass clarity with the free air design of the space behind the seats...

In the end, Im likely to either buy another OEM sub to replace my blown one or have mine repaired if thats even possible... pretty bummed either way.

I vote for installing a high end earbud system! Will cost much less and the cops woun't stop you for a noise ordinance violation. Plus, it'll save the rest of us from the varied crap that spews from loud cars everywhere! You'll still get to ruin your hearing but you woun't take it out on the rest of us while your doing it!

I think the OP is stating that he has subs that fit under the seat now and he is looking for a regular speaker that will fit into the holes where the OEM subs are currently mounted.

If that is the case, it looks like most 6-1/2" to 6-3/4" round speakers will fit (referencing the size), just make sure you get the correct OHM rating for the factory system. I've always had good luck going to Crutchfield and entering my car info to see "what fits" without any modification. There are several speakers listed for "behind the seat" installation. You might give them a look.

Yes, since blocking out all other sounds by way of earbuds, the proponent of more hearing damage than loud speakers, while driving down the road is a reasonable idea. Especially when a firetruck is trying to get by >.>...

Bass can get pretty loud, but it doesnt do as good of a job as earbuds which essentially lower enviornmental decibel levels while steeply increasing inner ear decibel levels. I would take a dude blaring his subwoofer next to me vs the dude jamming out with his earbuds any ol' day

Yeah I kinda got sidetracked with talking about the overall difficulty finding a good replacement for that spot. >.> People like me dont want to go buy another amp, or start chopping away at the carpet.. we just want a plug, play, yay!!! lol

But yeah, RL6 is right, here is one of those threads I mentioned that has speakers you can use... kind of... Just be ready to cut some carpet, trim some brackets, and possibly amplify some speakers..

Not using ear buds, I had my stereo so loud one day (when I was much younger) that I did not hear the sirens from the on coming first responder truck (coming from my right at an intersection, in my lane) that when I turned "right on red", I hit him (glancing head on). I was looking left for oncoming traffic while I turned right. Not a good day for me - especially when my dad just happened to drive by about 5 minutes after the wreck . I wasn't hurt from the wreck (no one was hurt, thankfully), but I was certain the pain would come once I got home

Not sure what one runs from the dealer, but here is an online place that you might be able to get a used factory sub:

Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market

If you want new factory subs, the part numbers are as follows:

Left - 05102804AA
Right - 05102806AA

Call the dealer to get the latest prices.

Also, on the forum here, MrMopar parts out Crossfires and he might have some used subs that he can get to you. Look him up and send him a PM.

Room 4 2,
I recently blew my rh rear sub, called the dealership....$350 bucks.......FOR ONE!!!!! OMG!!!
I'm looking on here for idea...but it seems everyone has issues with finding a sub that'll fit within the housing (aftermarket speaker apparently are too deep/tall).
A buddy of mine recommended Crutchfield as well as someone above in this thread. They let you dial in your make/model and show you what'll "fit". But I'm skeptical.
Anyways...I think I'll pursue refurbishing my speaker first.

Just have them repaired and keep the sound you have. I think these speakers sound better than the replacements that are being sold.

I've seen these installed (not in the brackets) and they sound nice.

CompVT | KICKER

1 Ohm stated, but the manual says 2 or 4 Ohm.

Carpower Proneo 6 will fit without modification:
Carhifi im Crossfire - HIFI und Multimedia - Chrysler-Crossfire-Forum - Das Forum für Crossfirefans

Earthquake SWS 6.5 will fit with light mods. Diameter of the housing has to be widened about 4 mm.
Mein Hifisystem im Crossfire - HIFI und Multimedia - Chrysler-Crossfire-Forum - Das Forum für Crossfirefans
