Default Horn replacement with wolo bad boy

So i purchased the wolo bad boy 419 horn with the built in compressor. my question is i had 2 horns before, with a total of 4 connectors, now i have the new horn which requires 12 volts and only 2 connectors. which 2 do i plug in? one set has extra wires and the other does not. the horn came with a relay but im not sure if i need that. heres the horn in question.

as you can see it only has the 2 terminals.

Thanks for any and all help,

Dave

p.s. i did a search and didnt come up with anything conclusive

I assume one is hooked up to the factory relay and the other is to the steering wheel??? Pardon my ignorance I'm by no means an electrician.

The horn came with a relay and a wiring diagram similar to the one in your link. so should i have bought 2 horns? one for each set?

Thanks for the help,

Btw is this Corky??? i used to have a 91 NA mariner blue miata and I bought your begi-s kit for it with the megasquirt PNP. Boy was that a fun car. Funny to see a few past/current mx-5 owners becoming crossfire owners.

Hi Dave, The OEM horn wires are positive and negative. The brown wire with the black stripe is the positive and the plain brown is the negative. The spade connectors on your new horn are marked positive and negative. You could have bought two horns but you don't need to . . . You could just hook up your new horn to either one of the two sets of OEM horn wires but you will blow the 15 amp horn fuse located in the box next to the battery every time you honk the horn. That is because your new horn draws 18 amps of power . . . more power than the two OEM horns so you will blow the fuse. To use your new horn (or even two of them if you want) you'll need to hook up a separate wiring circuit for the new horn using the relay provided with your horn and following the directions on the wiring diagram shown in the "Horn Stop Working" link that MrMiata provided for you. Personally, I am totally electricity challenged and yet I was able to do it. Good luck to you . . .

thank you thats what i was looking for. is it easier to use the 2 wire terminals so i don't have to figure out what to do with that second wire on the spade terminal? maybe ill do one factory horn and replace the other with the wolo

You will still blow the fuse (#6 fuse in the box next to the battery). If you're going to use that new horn you will need to wire in a new circuit. The second set of OEM connectors is for the second OEM horn . . .one positive wire (the brown with the black stripe and one negative wire the brown wire). You don't have to use that second set of connectors if you are only hooking up one horn . . . but . . . you won't be able to hook up the new horn to either of the OEM connector set of wires without blowing the fuse.
