half the cars i've had i hated and i beat the daylights out of 'em and i fixed 'em too.

not looking for sympathy or whatever but i think that too many kids today would rather have someone else do stuff for them instead of taking on the challenge themselves.

off my soapbox. and don't bother calling me an a-hole because i already know that i am.
Not going to call you an A-Hole, but I think I actually did exactly what you said I should do. When I needed to take the tires off, I figured out how and did it. Prior to yesterday, I had never needed to take the tires off. I've been fairly lucky and never had to do any major work on a car. I've also never had a flat tire. Now that I know how, I'm sure I'll probably get a flat like tomorrow or something. Sorry about your Dad.

Just out of curiosity...why would anyone want to darken lights that help one see or be seen such as headlights, taillights...I don't get it...and no matter how many times I tried to get my son to learn how to change a tire he just refused. My daughter can do it but my son can't...I don't think he can screw in a light bulb.

He'll be kicking himself in the @ss one day when he's like "Crap why do I have to look up on google how to change a tire".

As for why anyone would want to darken lights...I guess it's the same reason I bought a crossfire. It's not the most utilitarian vehicle on the planet, but it's stylish. And style is in the eye of the beholder.

Just like A/G is don't understand why someone would cover up their fog lights. If you don't need them, why not just remove them? One of my first cars had foglights that had removable covers. I never used the covers because I wanted the lights to work when I needed them without having to remove the covers.

I guess that the Base Crossfire must be more stylish?

Changing tires is one thing...but changing out some other components on newer cars is nothing like it was about cars of yester-year. Autos are so over engineered these days it's ridiculous. I have an older car and I did most of the work if something broke but there are certain things that go beyond our skill and wherewithal.

Older folks fall in the same category of paying someone else just to get it done rather than take the challenge themselves with us younger folk in certain areas. I wouldn't want to touch the engine compartment or electrical in my car because A) it's my daily driver B) If I do something wrong I'll more than likely have to pay to get that fixed plus whatever I was working on.

Heck I don't even like changing my oil even though I know how to do it because I don't want to deal with the disposal of the oil. Everyone just needs to not be testy.
