Question 1st Gear RPM Nanny

你好,

Today I pulled fuses 17 and 18 to test the ability to rid myself of the traction nanny which worked as I saw in past forums. However, now I'm trying to rid myself of the 1st gear 4200 RPM limiter. Has anyone successfully accomplished this? Thanks.

Why do you want to disable "launch control"...?

I'm not sure what you mean by 4200 rpm limiter, I've only heard about the 5000 RPM limit........I'm the one who disproved the RPM limiter with the fuses pulled......youtube video that ended that thread here

There was also some discussion that there was a diferrence between model years, that might be what you are experiencing.

As far as entering "dyno mode"......either have your ECU hacked or find someone with the Mercedes "STAR" software and breakout box and it's possible.

I just threw this video in for fun......it's a no fuses and disabled yaw sensor run from behind a Dodge dealership.

2 questions.. How do you disable the yaw control and when all is said and done, does it leave any kind of "footprint" in the computer that the dealership can trace?

I have an '05 XF. When sitting on the line and reving the engine up the limiter kicks in at about 4200 RPMs and prevents going any higher. I was wondering if there is a way to do away with this. I'll have to view your video tomorrow at Starbucks since the Academy censors YouTube from us . I thought pulling fuses 17 and 18 disabled the yaw sensor in addition to the traction control system?

The neutral limiter is set at 4500rpm, not 4200 rpm. It serves two purpose: 1 - Launch Control. 2 - Saving your engine on missed shifts.

You're not buying anything by revving past 4500rpm at the line.

Oh...well then mistitled thread. Thanks for the correction and info. I could swear for some reason mine stops advancing before 4500 in neutral.

Just disconnent it.......and as far as leaving a "footprint"....who knows? At worst it'll just show as an open connection that they might think about fixing......but knowing the stealership, they'd never think to even look. Hell, even if they did they'd just scratch their heads and look puzzled!

If I launch at 4500 rpm all I do is make tire dust and a lot of noise. not what I'd call a launch control in the proper sense.

The neutral limiter only kicks in when the front tires are not turning......there's a front to rear percentage differential in wheel speed that kicks this in....if you're going over 20 MPH and miss a shift the car will bounce the redline limiter.
