Dude Wtf!?
I don't give a rat's butt about turbo 4 bangers that can outrun my Crossfire in the 1/4 mile, parly because I happen to own one. The Crossfire is not about 1/4 mile runs - take it to a road course and spank those turbo 4s. It's a hell of a lot more fun to build lateral and braking g-forces and run up through the gears for 20 minutes at a stretch than it is to go in a straight line for 14 seconds.
Besides, no matter what you do there is ALWAYS somebody faster. Just enjoy the car.

If you want to street race stop light to stop light, go buy something else more gay, and more common, and then I hope you drive it into a pole and only injure yourself.

Just like TCS, ABS, and ESP, HFS cannot be disabled.
My understanding is that HFS is designed to reduce hormone-induced competitiveness by sampling the testosterone levels of the occupant 500 times a second. If the occupant's testosterone level is higher than deemed safe by strict ISO 9003 standards, the car responds by increasing the perceived difference in power. This usually results in the driver's testosterone levels decreasing and being replaced with feelings of inadequacy. The NHTSA has shown that this correlates strongly with a 50% decrease in street racing activities.

Xfire, when you compare the Cobalt SS (& it's tough to picture a performance Cobalt) you are basically comparing your base vehicle with the likes of an SRT. It's not a fair comparison so you needn't worry about performing against it! I'm willing to bet that no one else in your circle of friends has anything like your car but how many do you know have Cobalt look-a-likes?
By the way, please, for the love of all that's holy, do not start threads with 'Dude".
Dude... how long have you had your car?
For the folks who had a crossfire and srt6 the first year it came out, we didnt have diddly squat. Hell... when did the needwings intake come out, just a few months ago?
Im so glad that prices have gone down and have become more affordable and that more people own a crossfire, especially tuners. Now performance mods have been developed and made available.

yeah you guys do bring up good points i will admit. i mean over the weekend i thought out it and i mean hell why waste so much money just to get power when the car is made for europe style roads not drag strips. like i was plannin on spending my 5 grand on a turbo kit from sts and get it tuned. but i thought about it and with gas prices goin up to 4$ a gallon this summer (IN ILLINOIS) screw getting performance parts. im just gonna enjoy the car like many of you said. and im goin to invest in a motorcycle. nothin powerful. just somethin with 150 250 cc's and get about 65 mpg. save myself some money. and i mean itll preserve my crossfire longer too so i think itll be worth it.
maybe we can convince the administrators to start a forum category, "OMG!", of "WOW!" or better yet, "Dude Wtf?" for the newer crossfire owners.
anyway, i, for one, am pretty darn pleased at the aftermarket parts that are available. i've done quite a bit to my limited and i'm content (for the time being). i don't imagine being in the 13's anytime soon, but like others have said, there is more to driving than going in a straight line- that's why we have steering wheels attached.

he goes from frustration of no performance part to a 125cc motor cycle????
I have had a varied amount of cars in my time including BMW M3, BROOKLANDS BMW 5 SERIES, 1968 FORD MUSTANG, R32 NISSAN SKYLINE GTR PUSHING 500BHP, AND A FEW MOTOR CYCLES INCLUDING A SUZUKI GSXR 1100 BORED TO A 1360.
My point is i didnt buy my crossfire for out and out speed as i could of found cars that would go faster and handle better. i got it for its look and design. its defo not a slow car!! 0-60 in 6.5 which you can cut with a few mods and increase the top end.
Also as to being designed for european roads, what does that mean? im sure you have a few corners in the states as we have straight roads in europe.
if the top end and 0-60 is the only problem with the car then maybe he is missing the point of the crossfire.

if you think drag racing is a hard thing to do then you should try rally racing, where drving is an art
Ok, so you've proven that you know very little if anything about drag racing, which is why I'm confused that you would call something stupid that you know very little about. I never said drag racing was hard, but it does take skill and know how, not as much in the slower cars as in the quicker and faster cars but it still takes skill. I fully agree that rally racing also takes driving skill, I would also like to think that everyone would agree with that and would not call rally racing stupid for no reason.
haha that was AWFUL(terrible) and my brain hurts from trying to figure out 95% of the stuff you just wrote... thank you...hahahahaha. i'm sure there are people on here that have owned other mopars (i.e. srt-4's)... that could compare the handling performance of the two... i know that wcalvert has owned an eblue srt-4 that we did some suspension and motor work to so he may be a good source to find out how it truly handles.... or you can find on on the street and take it from a roll...
My Sentra is making right around 320whp and I had to sacrifice alot of comfort and convenience features to get it there. Even though the Sentra is making gobs more power, the XF is by far more fun to drive. In fact, I haven't driven the Sentra since I bought the XF. Also, I never found myself going to the garage just to look at my Sentra...my wife is jealous of the XF, haha. - Jay

My SRT dynoed like 265whp, 285 wtq with all of the torque there at 3000rpm. Would it outrun me on a road course? Maybe. An SRT-6 on a road course? I don't think that's happening.
