So guys, figure this one out, eh? What should I do?
It sounds like the PCM wasn't the problem and they don't have a clue. Maybe they took it to a Mercedes Tech.

Do you know if they checked the battery voltage? If it's low it could cause those lights to come on.

You need to bring it to someone else. I bought a new 85 EXP that had a shimmy in the steering wheel. I had it in the shop over and over and they couldn't fix it. I was furious so I took it to another dealership where there was someone smart enough to figure it out. It turned out to be a warpped rear drum.

That car was cool looking outside but a pile of krap underneith. I only drove it for 2 years.

The guy called me a little bit ago. He thinks the dealer didn't flash it correctly. So, they towed it to another place that has better equipment and they are going to run the latest version of everything they have to figure out what is wrong with it. Basically, they are going to flash it again. I believe I have it at a good place. They said they would fix it and since I have already paid, they better damn do it.

Do you think if this is a very very rare problem that Chrysler would fix it for free? Just a thought.

Some good news. They called today to let me know they got the computer to talk to some of the areas that were bad. I am not sure which one. It looks like they may have been right about the PCM. The dealer may not have flashed it correctly and this is the reason why they were not communicating.

I think this may come to an end in the next few days. Don't miss it!

An End??

Well, I am going to pick up my car this morning. Everything is supposed to be working. They replaced the PCM and had the local dealership re-flash it. They didn't do it correctly (same place I went to in the first place) so they had to send it to a place 30 miles from here. THey had it for a week and got everything working. My next step is to get my money back from Chrysler for the PCM since it is under warrenty. I would have had the dealer do it, but they tried to screw me. They also couldn't diagnose it correctly!! I am getting it back on my birthday!! Better freakin work!

I am glad that you asked. No, it did not work. After 3 weeks of waiting I picked it up on Friday and it was doing the exact same thing as before. They replaced the PCM and it was still doing it. I was charged $2400 for the part (which i hope to get back from Chrysler) and took it back to the dealer. I am working with the head manager and they WILL fix it. Yes, it is the ABS control module....they think.

Thanks for the offer, but they have already ordered it. I would rather they install it. Is it something I could have done?

Yet again, updates to follow either tomorrow or Saturday.

yes you can still have the dealership install it or do it yourself its not hard at all. get the part number and if they match we can make a deal. its more or less a plug and play unit. Let me know!

The dealer called and said they installed the problem and it is STILL doing the same thing.

Seriously guys, what the heck it wrong with my car?!! Could it be low transmission fluid?

I can be of absolutely no help regarding the specific problem to your car. Though it seems like no chrysler dealer in your area can properly fix your vehicle. Have you considered taking the vehicle to mercedes? At this point it seems like Chrysler is of no help and the situation is dire.

Holy Crap!! I feel extremely bad for you. You must have the patience of a saint.
Did you get loaner from them. I have gotten "Chrysler" involved with some issues in the past. It seems once you get Corporate involved these local dealers seem to speed up and do whatever it takes. Tell them to contract out for a Benz tech. Have they at least called any MB techs?

Good Luck!

Your car has been down for so long I forgot what the problem was!
Hope they figure it out soon.
Again, keep us posted.

Steenport I wish I had an answer for you. Mine, an 05, had some ABS/ESP issues which seem to have corrected themselves. Does it not seem that a lot of the problem vehicles are 04's ? Sure seems that way to me. I spun the tires coming out of a slippery lot a few winters back and the ABS/ESP light came on. The spoiler went up and wouldn't go down. I tried the reset, and it still did the same thing. I came in and made an appoinment with the dealer and when I started the car a few hours later no more problem. This happened one other time, so twice in the 3 + years I've had my car. Our Mercedes did the same thing and it was a steering angle sensor. Mercedes was able to diagnose and fix that after two trips. I guess my point here is this scares me about our cars, nobody knows how to work on them and even if you know a good Mercedes shop chances are they wont work on the Crossfire.

The body control module has control over numerous electrical components inside and around the vehicle, antilock brake controller, windows, wipers etc including the dash panel and the spoiler operation.
This is shown on page 8E-72 and 8W-45-2 to 8W-45-6 of the manual.
The module is located under the hood in that plastic container with the sliding latches.
Maybe all it needs is to have the connectors to it jiggled a bit to get a good connection, that is a cheap fix and always worth a try.

Failing that give the tires a good kick, it will at least make you feel better. You must feel like doing this to the service manager but you might find yourself wearing bracelets. Stick to kicking the tires.

You can find the manual at; http://homepage.mac.com/gregmeach/XFire/

This may or not help but we tried. Has anyone mentioned this module at the dealerships you have gone to?

I think calling Chrysler is the logical next step. I have had to get a ride for so long and my friends (thank God) are getting tired of taking me. This has been a complete nightmare! By calling Chrysler, do you think they will give me help on the pirice of all of this? Has my baby turned into a "Lemon" car? So weird, since it has NEVER had anything wrong with it.
