The kit has jets from 35hp to 150hp I'm never planning on using more then 75hp do you think it'l hold up good without a tune?

Hey everyone,

I got my nitrous kit today and installed it but I'm having trouble!!!

When I turn the bottle on I can hear pressure comming from there and in the nitrous soleniod I've tightend it as best as I can, I dont know why this is happening??

Okay I realised what I did wrong! I dont know where to put the jets!! I've got the correct jets I looked in the book but I'm not sure where to put them I'm assuming in the "OUT" section of the nitrous and fuel solenoid?

If you are hearing gas hissing from the system, the jets won't fix that, the jets come into play after and only when the soleniod is open. A gas hiss(escaping gas) indicates a possible incorrect connection, missing gasket/o-ring or small hole in a line. Check and double check all connections.

The small brass jet goes inside the nitrous nozzel to restrict the amount of nitrous flow, it is probably a blue anodized nozzel that is plugged into the system right before your MAF.

The fuel side is probably red anodized fittings.

What kit do you have?

DO NOT attempt to use the system without the jets!!

Thanks Scott,

I fixed the problem with some thread sealer! now my other problem is I set it up for 50hp and when I use it I cant feel to much of a difference could this be due to where I placed the jets?

I put the Nitrous jet on the actual piece that is attached to my TB and the fuel jet in the "out" hole of the fuel solenoid... hrmm

If you can feel the nitrous kick in, but it seems more like a 25-30 shot it is
probably bottle pressure, internal pressure should be about 950psi, cool temps can greatly affect the system preformance, which is why a bottle warmer is useful.

if you have a pressure gauge on the bottle check that, if its below say 800psi you are not getting near a 50 shot. I am working from memory on the pressures, but somewhere in the manual you should find info on system pressures, min and max.

Long ago on my first nitrous powered mostly street car, I had the same problem, juice kicked in but just did not seem like a 75 shot, checked my pressure it was like 750psi; installed bottle warmer problem solved .

Yes. Most important thing is making sure you have enough fuel to match the nitrous (in your case, installing a large enough fuel jet). Tuning is simply for more power.

The only other thing you may want to do down the road is go with spark plugs one heat range colder than stock. Also, NEVER use platinum spark plugs! (don't know the reasoning, but enough nitrousheads told me about this one that I didn't question it.)

And yes, bottle pressure is important. W/o a bottle warmer, you'll get a much harder hit when the bottle's full vs. close to empty.

Well at the moment I've got s 50hp jets installed and I can barely feel it, I might set it up with 75hp and see if I can atleast feel anything, if I do its down to the bottle heater if not there must be something else wrong!! I knew it wouldn't go as smoothly as I wished for lol

Did you have a bottle heater at the start Paul? The only thing I could have done wrong is where I placed the jets

Okay guys problem fixed! the purge hole wasn't fully tightend and it was loosing pressure! with all that done, I went out on a test run and WOW! I was running a 50hp shot and it really brought back memories of my srt days. I'm going to try the 75hp tomorrow.

Paul I'm curious what jets did you use? the book I have tells me to use 41 nitrous and 22 fuel sound about right to you?

is this all you did was hook it up with no tune?

I did not have the heater at first, only use nos at 1000 psi! I really don't remember the jet sizes, its been too long.

why do you say that? If bottle pressure is below 1000 psi, only thing that will happen is it'll run rich (and safer). Less power, but you're not hurting the engine.

been wanting to ask this for a long time, and my research hasn't been finding what I am looking for, and I apologize for stealing this thread, but since I see so many that have NOS, here goes, and then I will go as well...LOL>....I am wanting a "mini" kit for my Harley. I have seen one of a bike locally, but he couldn't find the info on where he bought it a few yrs back...it is a small bottle, his was mounted on the front of the engine, along the frame...Have you guys seen this kit offered by any of the dealers you have done business with?....thanks, sorry again....
