The fix does not put the key system back to the set up where the locking key problem occurs, unless you replace the parts that are prone to failure but why would you do that?

But maybe you know more than anyone else here.
Ok I forgot to mention the Chrysler crossfire and the MB Slk the key system came from have a well known failure. The wear and tear of the lock will lock and you can't use the key to unlock the stearing wheel at all and Chrysler will charge $1500 to drill and replace the key system for you but they order the parts from MBz I had to pay a tow truck to take it to my house and I drilled it myself. I can turn the car on with the screwdriver but I can never lock my steering wheel and I have to put my key on the sensor. That gets anoying after a while so we need somewhere to just place the key and push start it. Im new at this lol so that's why I wanted to put my info I know someone has a better alternative.

When I had my stuck steering wheel fixed, I asked the tech to cut away the pin that locks the steering wheel. I guess I'll never get stuck in the parking lot for that reason again, but I can't lock the wheel which is OK with me.

When people take a chainsaw to a flower garden, its difficult to understand the complaint the garden looks like crap afterwards. Doing the MOD correctly before you or someone else either ***** it up or charges you will give you a 100% functional repair that will not happen again (unless its forced and you break something during the fix). Please don't rant on the awsome fix just because you didn't have it or didn't do it right.

Push button starts for the crossfire are available, just do not expect it to work like the others or else you may be highly disappointed. A lot of specialized things need to be done to get it working up to maybe tearing apart a key for the chip, or completely bypassing the 'iggy ring' portion of the security system.
