Push button start
I suggest that you take the time to re-read the ignition key fix if you have read it all ready or read it for the first time if you have not. You will learn that once it is fixed it will not fail again. You still need the key to be turned before you press the button or nothing will work.
The fix does not put the key system back to the set up where the locking key problem occurs, unless you replace the parts that are prone to failure but why would you do that?
But maybe you know more than anyone else here.

When I had my stuck steering wheel fixed, I asked the tech to cut away the pin that locks the steering wheel. I guess I'll never get stuck in the parking lot for that reason again, but I can't lock the wheel which is OK with me.
plenty of info here to help. Too bad you didn't see the sticky key write up before you tore into it.... I need to do my roadster soon....she is getting pretty loose...
When people take a chainsaw to a flower garden, its difficult to understand the complaint the garden looks like crap afterwards. Doing the MOD correctly before you or someone else either ***** it up or charges you will give you a 100% functional repair that will not happen again (unless its forced and you break something during the fix). Please don't rant on the awsome fix just because you didn't have it or didn't do it right.
