Question Re: yes a better f'n cup holder!!!~

Does this take part of the seat area for the place where the cups are sitting?

Not sure I want the passenger to have to mold themselves around the 'cup holder'.

Mine is fine without 'cup holders' in it. I use my installed 'cup holder' for holding my glasses case. Clips right in and holds em firmly without damaging the glasses and they pop right out when I exit the car.

I've been using this cup holder since December. Mostly ride alone. Works great as long as you don't do a panic stop with a full venti Starbucks. My passenger (all thin women) have sat in the seat with cupholder in place with no problem. P.S. Three daughters and a wife.

Be careful you don't rub the finish off of the center console by having the cup holder constantly rubbing on it.

Just a thought...

More secure here and out of the way for both occupants.

Now that's a cup-holder. Too bad you have to feel for it!

Thumbs up Re: yes a better f'n cup holder!!!~

James!!! Thats an awsome place for it! I don't even use that position for anything. Yeah, feeling for it might be a little harder BUT when I and my Mrs are cruising, she can hand it to me (otherwise, I just hold onto it, I HATE spills and such). Anyway, I vote 'AWSOME' on this suggestion! Now, where is this at? I'm on a quest for this at wallyworld and/or the discount stores now!

COOL ITEM VOTE OF THE MONTH!

Edit! I see this design is a little different from the OP's one. Is this one available in our discount houses? And, how does this one mount?

Default Franc's new cup holder

If your head's not brushing the ceiling, and you're not racing, here's a nice little number:

First weekend I had the XFire i bought the same cupholder pictured above and a set of valve stem caps (it was missing a few). The cupholder was cheap at Auto Zone. Works pretty darn well, and I almost always drive alone so it isn't a problem that it takes up passenger seat real estate. Also, when I do have a passenger it stows almost completely under the passenger seat, far enough that it isn't in the way of their legs/feet.

I like the look of it mounted between the seats but that seems like a really awkward angle.

yep, I got that one from wal-mart, around 5 bucks. Have it wedged between the pass seat and the console, and absolutely no issues for my wife sitting there with it on. Would really miss having it if it was not there. Would like it a bit higher, or deeper if you will to more steasily hold the higher cups, byt now I'm nitpicking. It works well. easy for her and me to get to it. That was the one thing I didn't like about putting it on the bulkhead.

I don't think I could reach over and get to that.... do you reach back over your shoulder? what happens if you get one of those flimsey cups, you know the kind you grab the top of them and they collaspe? or do you twist around and reach for the cup, will have to experiment with mine. I have that cup holder but use mine between the seat and consol.

I have that same setup. I use my right hand and reach over my shoulder. It's pretty easy to get to and you could even look in the rearview mirror to see where youre reaching. As for the crap cups; I never use those in my XF. It's really hard to maneuver around to crap in the cup. lol. It's just a disaster waiting to happen. I only use bottled soda/water. I could probably take video or something. Picture makes it look far away.
