Guys,
(1) Two seat sport cars don't sell no matter who builds them
(2) Any sports car with low profile tires will have tire and rim
issues.Seen bubbles on goodyears and mich etc. low profile
tires don't like pot holes.
(3)A hand full of problems on a hand full of cars doesn't make the
car bad quality
(4)Rx7 had poor sales went away and came back as rx8
(5) 300z had poor sales went away and came back as 350z
(6)I see crossfire sales picking up at my dealer
(7) crossfire has a 7 year pwr.train warr.
(8 Sold 20 crossfires still no returns for major failures
(9)Crossfire has twice the build quality of any other chrysler
(10)It out sold the TT and boxter last month
(11)Would be smarter to hold on to the car get use out of it and
have fun get your moneys worth.
(12)What can you buy for 30k that can compare to the crossfire?

Very well said, crossfiretech!!! I don't think anyone has put their car through more than I have and I haven't had any problems other than window switches being backward, a little rattle in the hatch, nasty brake dust, and the infamous radio display. I had many more problems with the 2 Vettes and other cars I've owned.
I'm very happy with my choice. I'm not really concerned about resale because, for me, this car is a keeper.

(1) Two seat sport cars don't sell no matter who builds them
Order a Lotus Elise now, and you will have a delivery date of approximately one year from now, or longer. They are that over/pre sold with cash deposits, even WITH some dealers tacking on major premiums.
Sure, some will drop out of line, but once you're called, with about 4 months to delivery, to finalize the order w/color choices, the deposit is then non-refundable. Lotus can sell every car they build, in advance, for the next several years.
(2) Any sports car with low profile tires will have tire and rim
issues.Seen bubbles on goodyears and mich etc. low profile

Fine and dandy, but no excuse for Chrsyler and Michelin not working together to have them in the pipeline at the time the car was released. In fact, for an 'upscale' car, there really IS no excuse, especially if, as you say, these types of problems are to be expected. It should have been anticipated and the market should've been prepared.
(3)A hand full of problems on a hand full of cars doesn't make the
car bad quality
It's more than a handful of cars experiencing them, some of the problems are quite profound. Maybe an overstatement to say the car is BAD quality, but it would be an equal overstatement to say it is GOOD quality. Underneath its pretty skin, it's pretty mediocre. Even the hard core enthusiasts are changing brake pads, chipping it, going with K & N filters...that in addition to getting their glove box locks, et al, fixed.
What's this about rough idling after oil changes?
(4)Rx7 had poor sales went away and came back as rx8
(5) 300z had poor sales went away and came back as 350z
Fail to see the point of #'s 4 and 5. When the Crossfire goes away, what will it return as? Actually, it's a way for DC to get rid of its inventory of now obsolete SLK driveline pieces as it introduces a new SLK. So really, it's the old SLK coming back as a Crossfire.
(6)I see crossfire sales picking up at my dealer
I do too, ESPECIALLY WITH A DEALER IN BALTIMORE TODAY ADVERTISING IN THE SUDAY PAPER NEW CROSSFIRES FOR $27,800! That should help. And I know that makes me feel good about my 'investment.'
(7) crossfire has a 7 year pwr.train warr.
Not terribly reassuring, really, if one actually has to USE that warranty quite a bit, and a lot of folks on this board are racking up miles to and from the dealer early into ownership.
Nice to know DC is paying for the repairs, and that they spend more time with the car than the owner does.
(8 Sold 20 crossfires still no returns for major failures
Sold 20 since July? They're flying off your lot! It's not just the major problems that are annoying, or give someone buyers remorse when he/she plunks down $35 large for a car.
The 'little' issues, adding up, cause buyers to think twice about their purchase.
(9)Crossfire has twice the build quality of any other chrysler
That's not saying much. See # 8 above. Dealing with these 'little' issues have convinced me to not buy another Chrysler product.
(10)It out sold the TT and boxter last month
Not sure the point of this point. Don't know that it's accurate, either.
In it's current price range, which is now sub $30K in many places...how'd it do against the Z or RX8?
(11)Would be smarter to hold on to the car get use out of it and
have fun get your moneys worth.
Matter of opinion.
(12)What can you buy for 30k that can compare to the crossfire
RX 8, 350Z, Subaru WRX...they all outperform the Crossfire...unless of course the only criteria for comparison is unique looks and people staring at a red light.
Oh, but remember, LOTS of folks on this board paid $35K, not $30K. That's not making them feel any better.

Read Michelin's site... the tires that are on Crossfire are BRAND SPANKIN NEW design. Same for the Continental's.

Maybe you should STOP looking for Crossfire ad's in the paper... it's just giving you an excuse to get down on yourself and your decision to buy a Crossfire.

Once again... my Crossfire is a long term keeper and I'm very glad to own one. Does that mean I think it's a well manufactured car with a good suppot network .... NO. For paying out $34,000 and the car having a MB lineage it has been a disappointment for me, first year model or not, I don't consider a car that has had the problems a lot of folks on this forum have experienced a well made car.
For the most part, since the late 70's, I've owned the despised "Jap" junk cars which is how many of you here refer to them. Most were Honda's, a Datsun 280Z and a couple of junk GM and a Ford models thrown in for grins. The latest being '98 Prelude which I sold to buy the Crossfire. All of them combined have not had as many problems that I've experienced with #2815. BTW: Paid $23k for the Prelude, got $14k in trade 5 1/2 years later... I consider that a car holding it's value pretty good.
Grant you tires are a seperate matter but it still figures into the total picture. I agree with you on the low profile thing which may cause some folks who live in the rustbelt and other places with crappy roads with all the potholes to have some issues. However, no matter how you slice it... it was a **** poor idea to put these tires on the car without an "adequate" supply on hand for the consumer. There are plenty of folks within Michelin that will tell you the same thing.
In closing, this is the most expensive car I'll ever be able to afford and for me... it has not lived up to what I thought a finely engineered "Kraut" car was all about.
If this is whinning, so be it...................
I still call it whinning......Every sports car has expensive tires.... every sports car has poor resale after the first couple years...every car make has some defects.Get a grip and deal with it...Some of you guys cry like old broads the first sign of trouble. When someones opinion is based on 0 facts I question it.There dropping the price on Crossfires let me run and sell mine  Get your 35k of use out of the car and how can you lose??

Tire price is NOT the issue... it's the lack of them on hand is.
When cars of this price have as many issues as this one has, I don't call it well manufactured... give me a break, condensation behind the headlight lens... my Jap junk never had issues like this car does. I suggest you get off the high horse and realize what the Crossfire is... a seven year old discontinued SLK 320 that has really nothing going for it but a slighty above average package underneath and pretty skin with a built in wow factor.
It's pretty bad when people can not express ideas without being labeled as you have done.... whatever!!!
AZ if you knew anything about cars you would know the car isn't junk.YOU had problems with your car..there's thousands who didn't!!!A few guys complain about condensation and now its a major flaw??? I would rather have an old SLK driveline and electronics than some new unproven setup.Mercedes sticks with components that work for years..Why change?Chrysler redesigns parts every couple years and never sticks with something that works well.I would rather have tested components. The crossfire has 5 TSB's ...some new models have over 20.I don't think the crossfire has ALOT of issues.I think some people like to whine no matter what.

Dave, when I had to replace my tire three weeks ago, indeed Tire Rack was the only place that had the tires. The ONLY place. Michelin themselves told two Michelin dealers I visited, and then told ME when I called the 800 number in our brochures that they had NONE.
Tire Rack had 3...THREE tires in stock. Total.
I do know that has changed somewhat now, but the fact is Michelin dealers generally will NOT be stocking these tires because of their limited application.
I have NO clue your point about the tires being spanking new. That is totally irrelevant to the issue. Chrysler sells a car that has NO spare tire, just a goo pump that is virtually useless in many tire damage situations. They start selling cars knowing there were no replacement tires out there. BRILLIANT!
Hey Crossfire tech...your requested comment. (Oh, first...'whiner' has only one 'n', not two. spelling it 'whinner' might be mistaken for olde english for 'winner', and I don't think that's how you feel about us disillusioned Crossfire owners...)
Your numbers re the Z, RX8, and WRX are specious. You KNOW they don't sell for list. I was at a Nissan dealer yesterday (where I got offered $25K trade for the Crossfire...but not on a Z) and they were selling Z track packages for under $30K. So let's stay in reality and compare apples to apples. YOU are the one comparing the sales figure for a far more expensive Boxster with the Crossfire. Talking about mixing apples and oranges.
RE the # of Loti sold...YOU made the definitive statement that 2 seaters don't sell....no matter WHO makes them. You didn't put any restrictions on #'s sold, so if you didn't like being called on it you need to be more precise when you try to make a point.
Be that as it may, the Lotus starts being delivered in May of this year. With 35 dealers getting 9 cars per month, they will have delivered over 2500 by the end of the year, and a pipeline at least twice that already in the books.
In other words, they will have NO cars 'on the lot', Crossfires???
But for the sake of argument, I'll grant you for a moment that the Lotus will sell fewer cars. To your statement nobody sells two seaters, no matter who makes them.
Look at Porsche. Please, no ridiculous statement that the 911 is a '4 seater,' you know NOBODY thinks of it that way, nor uses it that way. With the exception of the Cayenne, Porsche sells no real, serviceable 4 seater in the US. If they weren't selling 2 seaters, they wouldn't be here at all...don't think they're going anywhere.
Mmmm....last time I looked, there's at least one Mazda M5 (miata) at every intersection in the country. You'd be the first to offer the revelation that the M5 is a loss leader for Mazda....please...
You asked for a list of problems...well, I did it once, but I'll do it again just for you:
Design flaws/feature ommissions for it's segment:
No rack and pinion steering. You and Wes can protest all you'd like, but no car since 1960 that seriously has sports car pretensions has been without it.
No tilt wheel.
No HID.
Down on power.
Fixed sun visors.
Poor radio.
Poor cup holder.
Cheap plastic interior.
No memory seats.
No Nav system (throwing that in because it's been an issue for lots of other guys, I couldn't care less personally).
'Make-do' for tire failure.
Balky 6 speed.
Problems folks have had that have required trips to dealer:
1st gear popping
Glove box locks falling out.
Noisy rear hatch.
Lately folks have had auto problems.
Lately folks w/autos have had idle problems.
Wind noise (which two Chrysler dealers have failed to be able to correct per the TSB on my car).
Running heater fans.
Tire bubbles.
Saggy leather seats.
CD skipping (actually, mine would not come on at all yesterday).
Interior door handles coming off.
Short-lived headlight bulbs
Lifter noise.
Poorly installed radiator hose that could be cut and fail.
Gear shift lever coming loose while driving.
Loose interior pieces.
Misprinted manuals that have resulted in uninformed dealers seriously underfilling oil sumps.
Somebody just posted a problem that someone suggests is an 02 sensor...something suggested as common on MB engines. Might be right, might not be...
You get the idea. There are others, these just come to mind from memory. If this is a handful, you must have big hands.
YOU may not think any/all of these or important. But to somebody with a new, expensive car, even one or two of the minor ones can be very disconcerting. The serious ones are SERIOUS.
You know, I LOVE it when the self appointed moderators of this board call folks 'whiners' when somebody expresses some type of disappointment with their expensive car while it's still NEW. It's also interesting that somebody decides to stoop to name calling when the facts are not on their side.
Look folks, enjoy your car, by all means. I've had fun times with mine. But it is far from a great car, and now it is a very poor value as well.
Not to worry, CCrossfire, my car will be gone by Wednesday, this has been my last weekend with it. So please, consider this my last 'whining' rant.
I may post only to sell 3 extra wheels and a BRAND NEW never on the road front PS2 for it...but may go the ebay route instead.
Have an Amazing Day!

Get your facts together AND learn to read and understand what is being said by others... okay??? There are other opinions other than yours!!!!

The "I Hate my Crossfire Forum!!!"
Please sell your cars if you're really that unhappy!
I'm sorry that some of you have had real problems. But I have been fortunate and I'm sick and tired of hearing people slam the car.
Please, Please, if you don't like it get rid of it!!!

You know nothing and have 0 facts to back up anything you say Mr Expert! There have been a few problems listed on this site but on many different cars not one car has had all of those problems.I'm sure the beloved Lotus has problems too!

It's "What 'a' Moron." Not "What 'an' Moron."
At least, if you're going to stoop to sophomoric and childish name calling, get it right.
You've gotten yourself all 'crossed' up with numbers trying to prove a point you don't have. You've really got your drawers in a knot over the Lotus. The figures I gave you prove that the Lotus, a 2 seater, is SOLD OUT in numbers for the next two years at least. Somehow you've twisted that (as AZ pointed out you have a tendency to do) into 'proving' that 2 seaters don't sell. Sigh.
I noticed you didn't comment on the Porsche or Miata. By all means, Cross, don't let the facts clog your reasoning.
Think your response through thoroughly and carefully before you post next time so you don't have to post a second one when you want to add another 'zinger.'
Oh, and no, my headlights haven't fogged up yet.
