Parts/Part number section
Has anyone considered that a section or sub-section purely for listing any and all part numbers for our cars.
For example, I just received in the mail today a replacement mirror switch (got it from ebay), and I was savvy
enough to search and get it for a Mercedes SLK32 (plus all the other cars it goes to). On the side (and the bag, which had a MB packaging label on it) there is a Mercedes part number. With this, if we had a section for it, I could go and list the part number and where I obtained the part from so that other forum members who may need one (now or eventually) can find it easily without the hassle of searching thread upon thread (that may or may not have what their looking for).
Just my thoughts. What do you guys think?
By the way, the part number for the mirror switch which works the side mirrors (the one I got, you may or may not need the "A") is A 1298200610 and I got it from autolampsplus on ebay. It was the cheapest I could find at $48 (shipped).

That would be a big help. I just ordered that switch from a TX mopar dealer for $62.00 .
Another reason for that type of list is the delays at Chrysler. I broke a rotor retaining bolt recently and ordered it from the local stealer for $12.00. They promised to have it within 4 days. I called MB who had it in stock for $5.40.
of course I canceled the order with Chrysler.

Any more input? I think this would be a highly constructive addition to the forum. The fact that I could even fix the mirror switch (and subsequently cleaned the handbrake shroud) wouldn't be possible without the step-by-step instructions found on this forum.
I just ordered a front tie rod assembly as mine is damaged. Problem is I thought that our cars were based on a 2004 slk 320 & now I am not sure of the year 2003 or 2004? Can anyone confirm the year because the part numbers are different & my order is cross border which is difficult to return.
Thanks for the help
