Default False "Low Oil Light"

My low oil light keeps coming on saying im 2 qts low when im not. Its been happening for a few weeks now. First few times I checked my oil and it wasnt low. I just figured I needed an oil change. I went and got one today and the low oil light keeps coming on, im positive its not low. Anyone know why its doing this and how i can make it go away?

My light has only come on one time. It took one quart of oil to make it go out. Confirmed by checking the dip stick. The only thing I can say is, "are you sure" the level is correct?

Gotta be either a bad sensor OR there is less than the required 8 quarts of oil in there.

(No, not 8.5 quarts - I NEVER put in the lat 1/2 quart cause THEN the high oil light comes on at times!)

Well just like my last mercedes I fix one thing and another goes wrong. Very recently I have been driving and am getting what I expect to be this low oil light. It has a picture of the the engine oil canister with a squiggly line under it. I am going to assume this means "low engine oil" I still need to check my levels which I for right now are going to assume are ok since I changed the oil 3k miles ago I know there were 8-8.5 quarts in there when I got it changed and haven't experienced this light since I changed 3k miles ago. I will check the oil level on my lunch when the car has cooled down to see where it is at and when I return to lunch after the engine is warm and post my results, again assuming I am fine. I recently just changed my Crankshaft positioning sensor and got the sprint booster put in which I don't think have any correlation to this problem since I got the light a few days before these were installed. The light usually will stay on for about 3 minutes and shut off. The longest I have seen the light stay on was about 10 minutes. I have read a few other posts about oil lights and see that it could be oil pressure but I am seeing no leaks around the cap at all. Anything you guys could come up with to help would be appreciated I really hope it's not another sensor going bad. I really can't afford to have more stuff keep going on on this car being that I just had to buy all new tires and rims and the crankshaft sensor. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks!

The cluster will beep, the odometer reading will go away and "HI" is displayed in the odometer window for about 5 seconds. I think there is an oil can or other symbol, too. I remember knowing right away what it was telling me.

So, it's not really a light.

Go here:

My Chrysler: Chrysler Owners Service Manuals - Chrysler Cars, Minivans, SUVs, Convertibles, Crossovers

And download an owner's manual.

See pages 110 and 111! Sounds like a sensor is seeing a low oil level, even tho your level is fine.
ANOTHER BAD SENSOR - who could have guessed that?

Well low and behold it was actually rather low on oil surprising for 3.5k miles after the change..my guess is that the previous owner didn't use what it was meant to use and there is probably gunk and whatnot in there. I am going to get a bottle of sea foam and pour some in there before I change the oil again.
