Jonathan - I just read this thread! I am really sorry that this happened. I am glad that Murfi wasn't with you and that you are ok.

Don't let the insurance company low ball you on an offer. I just booked out your car in black book for the Southeast (book date 10/03/2011).

Clean Black Book 12075
Avg Black Book 10675
Rough Black Book 7450

These are wholesale values, not replacement value. Our cars have gone up in value a LOT in the last year (the whole market is up). Let me know if you need me to fax you a copy of the book.

NADA wholesale is a little better.

Clean NADA 12450
Avg NADA 11425
Rough NADA 10175

I think you should be able to get enough out of this car to pay for a roadster (yellow is the best )

Jonathan,
As I think you know Kimpossible (Kim) works in the auto industry.
She is probably the most knowledgeable when it comes to our cars and there values etc.

Thanks Mr. M I'd like low mileage and ALL THE BELLS AND WHISTLES such as my last car had. Check into it please, and let me know.
Appreciatively,

Thanks, but is it just me, or does it seem really strange that this two seater has "rear A/C", and a "rear window wiper" on a convertible? I must have a lot to learn, but these have sent up some red flags on this beauty...
RSVP,
JP

Thanks again KIM for the good information and guidance. My insurance company (FARMER'S) not only did not even try to low ball me, but treated me like a king throughout the process! The crowning achievement was a (after taxes, license balance and deductible) settlement of: TAA DAA! $16,389.40!! ...now back to the hunt!

By George I'd like an SRT, but honestly, a better skilled driver should have an SRT. Seeing me handle an SRT would be like seeing Hugh Heffner trying something with one of his "Bunnies". Everyone would know it was a waste of talent (the girl's) and the sad strugglings of an old man who can't face reality or get the job done.. I'll settle for a loaded Roadster with the usual engine in it. No pretense just pure enjoyment within reason. I'll leave the fast lane and tight curves to the more technically talented. I'm happy to be seen as a smiling dot in one's rear view mirror.

I think maybe I'll consider going back to Farmer's insurance.
