Default Windsheild spray nozzle?

The nozzles that spray my windshield washer fluid really suck one sprays a jet past my windshield and another sprays maybe 4 inches i feel like something is clogging them but they've been this way since i can remember. Any advice on what i can do to fix this?

Edit: Also does anyone know the part number for a new key fob either the Chrysler or Mercedes one. the top of mine broke so i can't have it on a key chain or lanyard.

I had the same problem on my previous car.. Sold the car and bought a crossfire, that solved my problem. Not sure what you should do, i'll try google first.

Google says: unplug the hoses connected with the nozzles under the hood, and them cleam them out using a air compressor

The one that sprays over the windshield would appear to not be clogged. You can adjust the nozzle direction with a small pick tool or pin, they are like a ball socket. Stick the pick in the hole in the nozzle and move it in the direction you want it to spray.

The one that goes over the top of the car is for the tailgate window.
Just joking.

Wiring circuit for WW fluid heaters. ('05 and up) Uses fuse 12.

Geez Dave .... you totally crack me up.

Not trying to hijack this thread, but this may be related ....... You posted in the past that the 2004 Crossies have the fancy rear view mirror, but do not have "heated" washer jets. You did state that 2005s and up, weren't given the fancy rear mirror, but were given "heated" jets. I have a 2005 that doesn't have heated jets, and not even a wired-in fuse location for them. Just wondering if anybody in Crossfire land has them. Someone else found a post on a SLK forum that discussed the jet overheating and melting some of the plastic and the need to drill out the jet. (I'm not advising this action) Did MB just not give us heated jets? Just asking .....

The 2005 Service manual mentions heated nozzles. The 2004 manual does not mention them.

From the 2005 manual.

² Heated Washer Nozzle Thermoswitch - The thermoswitch is mounted to the under side of the cowl grille.
See here for wiring circuit.

Begs the question, how do you know if its heating or not?

Warm the car up for two minutes..

Pull both wiper arms in the "up" position.. like you are going to change them..

At this point you have to look carefully at the cowl area..

Meahwhile your wife activates the washer..

Iif its warm when it hits your face.. You have heated washer nozzles!

You wait till it's -20 F in South Carolina and leave the car out overnight.
In the morning, start it up, wait 2 minutes and try the spray.
If it sprays, it's heated.

( Or you could be like Woody and put a homemade thermocouple in series right before the nozzle and another in the washer tank. Figure the delta and post the results so everyone here will be confused and say WTF ! )

Go here:

https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...case-help.html

Look at post #4.

Since your key is working, this might be the most economical repair for your FOB if you are willing to take your old FOB apart. Read over the instructions that 180 linked to in post #4 and see if it's for you.

EDIT: I have heard that a whole new key fob assembly will cost $160 or more. I have never looked for them myself, but there are forum members that have thrown this price around. I think Rob and Needswings.com can get the complete assembly for you, so if you go that route, you might want to contact him.

I have a 2004 Limited. It has the heated nozzles but not the hoses. Interestingly the electrical connectors were unplugged. I thought my nozzles were plugged up too but discovered if they are too far out of adjustment that they will not squirt. Use a pick or really small metal rod to adjust the nozzle, mine were stuck at first but moved easily after I broke them loose. don't put the pick in too far as you will not be able to adjust the nozzle.

+1 I'll try and remember to use them this coming spring...I think the fluid is over four years old in the tank!

I picked my car in Florida and found that on the way home the light indicating a low fluid level flickered for a few hours and then stayed on, I filled up the tank and it still stayed on.

Later I took the tank out and discovered that it must have been filled with just water regularly as there was a large mass of slime inside that had jammed the fluid level float resulting in the light staying on.

This slime was also in the hoses and nozzles, I had to clean them all out and this was all it needed, I had thought the float needed replacing.

My point is that you should not use plain water as the tank turns into a biology experiment pretty rapidly and the slime blocks hoses and nozzles, some slime could be seen hanging out of the nozzles in my case.

I'm sure Canadians and those in the North do not use water in the winter, but could use only water to add to the tank in the summer, I'd caution against that.
