How much of a hassle is it to have new ones programmed to your car, or are they universal?

 

Mine have been dead in both cars for sometime now. But, I did just purchase an MB E350. Put new rims on it, and had Discount tire put all new TPMS sensors in for around 140 bucks. He thought these would be the same as the XF's....can't say specifically...they did the programming...

 

so some tire places rebuild them for $15 ea ? Is this a good price ? Discount tire does this in my area !

 

Umm.. I'd "bet" that is the seal kit...

 

I'm guessing that is correct, to take one carefully apart, install a new battery and reseal with epoxy has got to cost more than a new one with the labor, battery, epoxy and profit thrown in.
The stem kit is basically just like fitting a new stem you used to insist on in the old days.
