2006 crossfire - roof switch blinking rapidly, roof inoperable
2006 crossfire - roof switch blinking rapidly, roof inoperable
I have a 2006 crossfire convertible. The top is stuck in the down position. When I try to operate roof with switch it does nothing. The switch just blinks red rapidly. I have tried to manually operate it and when I raise roof halfway it doesn't want to move. It stays stuck, like the hydraulic pressure will not allow it to go any further. I have SnapOn's Modus, and can get into roof module but there is no codes present. The power locks do not work. And there is a code In the Body Control Module- no comm. With central locking pump. I have checked all fuses. I NEED help, please.

I suspect, a security locking pump failure. In the trunk and likely under water.
I have replaced it on two cars and likely will be doing so on a third this month.

I ordered a "working" used Central Locking Pump. Maybe it kills two birds with one stone. Because not only does my roof not work, my door locks don't want to lock by key fob or switch. I did remove Central Locking Pump and it was filled with water. Opened her up and the motherboard was corroded And definitely not able to be functional. So I'll post back when I put new module in, in a couple days.

Update : so i got my new central locking pump in the mail. I bought a working used one off ebay for $250.installed it. And wouldn't you know, the ******* roof started to work. And the door locks work too by using my key fob. Problem solved. Thank you everyone for your thoughts and experience.

My best guess:
That "no comm" indicated the CAN BUS was disabled (please don't say "Shorted") due to damage in the pump module. With the CAN BUS to the rear of the car inhibited, none of those modules could communicate.
George,
I'm getting good at electronic diagnostics from the kitchen table. They moved our offices and lab to Dallas three weeks ago, been working here, isolated, ever since. I move to Dallas on or about June 8.

They may have just moved an didn't give you the correct address...
Who needs an office anyway , you just have to deal with office politics that way...
Hope you like you there an good luck. Did they move you? That's a 5k bonus..

New to the site (although the site has provided a lot of useful info). I have searched & I'm relatively certain I must have missed the issue I'm having with my 2006 top.
One day it just stopped half way through the close cycle. I manually closed it. Ever since, I have cycled the open/close manually trying to get my blinking switch to reset. I have good hydraulics. I have no issues with water. Just looking for a solution. Thanks from GA
