Buy new oem skreem
Where can you buy a new replacement skreem? I was thinking of buying a new oem skreem
and then having the new one rebuilt. I have a 2004 crossfire with automatic.
thank you for any help you can provide. Are there remanufactured units available.

I thought it was good to have spares of the things that tend to go bad.
local dealers don’t carry this stuff, so if something breaks I would
have a spare on hand. Sorry if this was a dumb question.
i have been reading the forums and thought people usally
have spares.

Also, don't over think your car and don't be worried about problems that you read about. You're reading about problems here because the forum is here to help with problems and other stuff.
Common things you should carry in your car: A good metric tool kit, a tire repair kit, a spare RCM, a spare crankshaft position sensor (BOSCH ONLY don't go cheap on this) and a head mounted flashlight.
Also look in the driver's side fuse door (between the dash and the door). You remove the panel by turning the two slots. See if anyone wrote a note on the fuse door saying the sticky key was fixed. They usually put a date on it.
Good luck with your car and enjoy it instead of worrying about it!

Thank you for the reply. Your right, I have been worried what could
happen instead of just enjoying the car. I’ve had it a few weeks
and after replacing the 9 year old tires I’ve had no problems.
the car only has 43,000 some miles, lots of life left.

That Chrysler Corp. no longer exist; The current "Chrysler" does not support the Crossfire, nor does Mercedes as the electronics on our cars is a hybrid and their manufactures scan tools will not work on all issues with the Crossfire. I have such a SKREEM pre-programed for my Limited just in case. Bought it from Needswings years ago.
You could contact him and see if he may just have one and could get it programed for your car, but I really doubt it. If the SKREEM goes out now Needswings or the Mercedes Speed shop is the place to go to get repairs/flashing/programing done to your system, but you will likely need to send them the SKREEM and the PCM from your car so they can effect repairs. Both can also help with FOB/key problems.
I have another newbie question. My car is running fine right now, but I have new Bosch cam and crankshaft sensors
should I replace them since the originals have 43,000 miles and the car is 20 years old. Replace for preventive against breakdown
or leave it alone til they quit.

I would wait however you could replace them, for experience and keep the used ones as emergency spares. Be sure to see how to do it before attempting. Also carry a spare RCM.

If it does happen, you can cool it down by pouring water on it to cool it down. Or wait about 20 minutes with the hood open to let it cool. The car should start again if it's the CPS.
I did a post with detailed pictures and descriptions. I do a lot of these type posts under the thread "My Journey with my 2006 Roadster "Svengoolie".
Here's a link to the crankshaft position sensor post. Hopefully you will find it helpful:
