I will be there, I assume then we (individually) will eat lunch prior to noon so we can all go to the museum together?

Currently there are 15 cars with 26 people attending.
I personally don't care if a Magnum is driven on Friday, the only time I think the type of car matters is parking at 13 and Woodward on Saturday. That is a Crossfire only location.

Speaking of 13 and Woodward there is still one spot which a member had to give up.
Is there a member who would want to park their Crossfire there?
It's still the $25 which you would pay to the person who paid but can't attend.
Let me know.
Ann if we are not on the list for Friday night at Woody's please add my wife and myself please.

We'll have to keep our eyes open this year and look at the 12 mile and woodward area. I just found out a co-worker is on the WDC committee, (he lives right there), and may be able to get us right on the side of woodward next year. Maybe even up to 100 spots if needed!

We still need to figure out pricing, bathrooms, and all that good stuff. One nice thing, this year we are paying a corporation to park, if we go with the 12 mile parking on Woodward next year, we would be paying the schools that the whole WDC was started to help in the first place!

I'll have to talk with Jamie, we might be able to procure a few spots this year if anyone is interested. Nothing promised.......just something to think about.

Steve, Good work, the more people stepping up to plan a GTG the better! In fairness to the owner of this years lot, Beaumont Property's, all rental payments from the WDC are donated to the Children's Network a charity group for kids.

Where would the space be? 12 and Woodward has some lots. The only thing that comes to mind which could take up to 100 cars is the strip along the cemetery, which presents a problem. It's grass with only one entrance/exit to it requiring cars to drive down on the grass/sidewalk. I don't think a Crossfire could/should do this, it's not stable, mucky and uneven. Once parked you couldn't get out until the cars between you and the entrance/exit had left as you are parked in. The only other way out is to drive off the curb onto Woodward. That really would not be good for a XF!
Shrine Middle School (not their Church building at the corner) has a big lot behind a fence, but don't they use it for their own WDC activities?
Keep checking into it, I'm more than happy to go along with the group's choices and follow the leader!

Hey are you in for Friday dinner this year? let me know.
About that dinner is in Royal Oak, at Woodys. I have almost finished the parking arrangements and will get specific directions, address, phone numbers out to each of you next couple of days. Thanks for waiting.

I believe they treat the school and church as one big area open for rent, from what I've been told. Like I said, I'm not sure if this is any better. I still have a year to run into Jamie at work and follow up further with details. We'll save those for the WDC 2009 thread!

It would probably take care of the bathroom problem though!

I'm definitely in for dinner! I've already told everyone at work / customers, that anyone that calls me on Friday or Saturday will have Hydroflouric acid forced down their throats forcibly by a robot.

I just got back from Woodward........good amount of action already, weekends should be pretty busy.

LOL, I was just hanging out with a group (8 cars) of prowler owners at 12 mile .........4 of 'em remembered us from last year on Friday! When we all left I took the opportunity to show them what a Crossfire looks like when it's going sideways! One guy tried to keep up, only one word for him............FAIL!

I was thinking of getting a few pics to post of our parking area this weekend, any locals care to do something Friday or Saturday night?

The only color we are missing is Oyster for WDC 2008.

Anybody have an Oyster colored Crossfire and want to join us?

LOL......ya, but you get the new years outdoor hockey game!

Actually it's pretty fun.......seems like the whole metro Detroit area goes "race happy" about a month before the event! Every time I turn around there's another couple of cars racing.

Tony Sortino has filled the last open parking spot at 13 and Woodward.
He'll reimburse Fritzauf the parking fee as he had to cancel attending the Cruise.

As of Sunday, July 20, 2008 these Woodward locations had signs out for parking space rental. Three are with in ½ mile of 13 and Woodward.

South bound on Woodward-
The Avenue Restaurant (248) 549-4130 1/2 block from 13 Mile Road west side of WoodWard
Shopping Center @ Normandy Road (13 ½ Mile Road) (734) 261-7000 On the West side of Woodward

Northbound on Woodward-
Shell Gas station almost @ Normandy Road East side of Woodward (248) 549-3250 Note: lot filled with hot rods most nights, not new cars, no XFs
Albins Restaurant just after 15 Mile (248) 930-7883 East side on Woodward
