If you've never flushed your brake fluid consider doing that as well.

For those who have not heard, the GenCoupes have this on their Facebook page and have invited us:

TOTD Craft Beer Octoberfest.

We're going to try something new since we've got such a large group.

Admission fee for the event: Bring a six pack (or more) of your favorite local craft beer which will be shared amongst the group. Try to find out a little background on the brewery and share what you know about their history and details on the actual beer.

We will start with a beer tasting portion for all to sample and then rank each one.

Once the tasting is done... down the hatch fun begins... with the winner getting to choose 6 of his/her favorites out of the bunch.

No Cameron Lewis, PBR is not a craft beer.

Feel free to post in here if you're interested in participating and what you plan on bringing.

Dibs on Red Oak..

Also, they have hinted this would be a Friday evening event, but it has not (to my knowledge) been nailed down yet - might be Saturday night.

Two tihngs, Osofast:

1) Weather predictions out that far are not always so accurate.
2) Underground shows only to the 4th - and even then, it's 40% chance of rain, not bad.

What I would like to know is if they see a front coming (not good, certain rain then) or just popup storms?
All we can do, is hope for the best. I know spring weather was awesome this time, and I remember goood weather last fall, too.

I'll be up there Thursday evening, arrving with one or more GenCoupes around 5-pm.

One of the Dragons I went to, it rained from thursday to Sunday morning... THAT is why I have my room reserved thru Monday morning. Just got news today I may be able to be off Monday as well - so I probably will be staying from Thursday night to Monday afternoon.

I have a route put together that will put us in Highlands for lunch. Anyone have recommendations for lunch in Highlands? With plenty of parking? Never been there and can't find much on the places that are listed there on the net.

Thanks, James

Rain changes everything for me. I have no intentions of driving while I'm up in Fontana, but if the rain comes someone better grab me before I reach the car.

Nothing like a little rain dance in a 3800lb machine on the dragon

Highlands has five restaurants that have won Wine Spectator awards and offer a variety of cuisines: Wolfgang’s Restaurant & Wine Bistro, Ristorante Paoletti, On The Verandah, Lakeside Restaurant, and Madison’s.

I'm with you, as long as you remember you're in the wet, and have a balanced approach & keep the speeds down, the rain can be quite fun. Easier on the tires, for sure.

Speaking of, that's something my tires do well -- wet traction.

There's a good chance that I'm not going to be able to make it, depends on how much time I can get the judge to give me to pay my ticket and court costs. I still need to have my poor tires rotated + aligned and my oil changed before I go. I'll know for certain on Friday when I go to court.

Lol, when do I ever forget that I'm in the wet. Besides, rain just makes things more fun.

We like Ruka's Table at 163 Wright Square (828.526.3636). Great casual atmosphere and the food is very good.
