Crossfires Across America #6 - Ozark Mountain Region - June 15-18, 2015
(And the two girls who cleaned my room were sweet and cute - sure didn't want to believe it about them anyway.....)
Ok, which of you asshats was gawking at women in the pool?
From their website: (Notice it does not say we were obnoxious or anything... so it was like I wasn't even there at all.)
Very Disappointed we had to spend our getaway time wtih a Car Convention
Suggestion:Check beforehand to make sure this hotel isn't a "host hotel" for an event.
Reason for Trip:To get away from the stress in our lives and relax
We were very disappointed to find out when we arrived that this hotel was the host hotel for a car convention that was in town. We were there to get away from the stress in our lives and to focus on each other. We planned on spending some time relaxing in the pool. But, all the hundreds of people that came for their car convention were just hanging around the pool visiting. There was NO way we could go get in the pool and be on display in front of all the people just standing around socializing. It was so disappointing and not the peaceful relaxing weekend we thought we were going to get. I really wish I would have been told that they were hosting this convention before I booked this place. I would have definitely gone somewhere else where we could have really had the peace and quiet we were looking for.

onehundred80,
I actually agree with you 100% on this post
It's not like we partied all nite. They make it sound like a cycle gang was there.
I tried to party all nite but my bed time is 10:00 whether I like it or not.
BTW,,,
They couldn't swim in the pool for most of the week, BECAUSE IT WAS RAINING!
Glad to hear the necklace was located. The cloud over the whole stay has lifted.
Just a quick note. I talked to the lady at the front desk yesterday PM, and she was so happy that they would be able to tell the crew the piece was located. I still feel like such an idiot....
Oh me? The Arkansas rain finally did me in. On the last leg of the trip home I thought I would put the top down on my SRT6 Roadster, only to find the D ring handle would not unlock the top, i.e. I could not raise the top from the windshield. The handle turned and the windows went down but the top was firmly locked to the windshield. There was not a drop of water in the trunk, but when I pulled up the styrofoam on right side of the trunk sure enough there was a puddle in the deepest depression and the mechanism in the foam covering was damp. I suspect this is the problem. Can someone lead me to the link that covers what to do in this situation? I know that many others have gone through this. Do I need to pull up the styrofoam panel on the left side of the trunk also? Hard to see how the water gets in when the trunk itself is dry. Need some help and advice.
The "D" handle issue is not in any way related to water in the trunk or locking module, treat the two separately.
The "D" handle has 2 rods connected to it that actuate the locking levers that lock the top frame to the windshield header.
One. or both of these rods have come loose.
Here's what you do :
Open the trunk and place the divider in the "top up" position. ( most trunk space )
Locate the rear bow latch ( just inside the top of the trunk opening ) and use a 6mm hex wrench to unlatch it ( counterclockwise )
prop the rear bow up with a screw driver placed in the locking slot up to the rear window bow frame.
This will provide enough slack in the top material so you can get your hands inside the header and feel the latching rods.
See if you can then finagle them to get the top unlatched. ( finagle is a technical term that translates to : "jerk stuff around and cuss a lot" )
Once you have it unlatched, you can remove the 2 panels and get to the workings.
As to water in the locking pump, dry it out and re-install sitting in a big plastic bag with tie wrap around the top.
Don't know what to advise on the water getting in there in the first place.

When I finagled in the header I could feel the rods moving. They seemed to be moving properly but the top would still not push away from the windshield. I gave it a big hit with the palm of my hand and it popped right up. Guess it was just really stuck after 1500 miles of bugs, dust and rain. The problem was a blessing in disguise as I never would have found the water in the trunk well where the electronic, pneumatic module is.
Top works fine now. Need to clean up the car. Many thanks to you for your advice and prompt response. You guys with your knowledge and willingness to help keep all of us going. Can't imagine owning a Crossfire without the help from you guys. Letting everything dry out and then put it all back together and clean it up. Still can't figure out how water gets way down in that depression without the trunk being wet. Thanks again.

No problem, glad to help.
Trying to place you from Eureka Springs, coming up blank. O well, too many people there to remember them all, and I'm sure most don't remember me.

We left Thursday afternoon and visited the ONYX Cave in Eureka Springs, 3 miles or so off the highway and kinda neat, and then went to North Little Rock. We saw the Old Mill that was in the opening sequence of Gone With the Wind, I had been there previously in my time at Little Rock AFB. We then went to Lonoke to visit an old AF buddy and his wife. On the way back from Lonoke to NLR we about hit our own deer and the bugs sounded like rocks hitting the car. Then we headed of to New Orleans, hot tip - get gas before you hit south east ARK on the regular highways. I was extremely low the light was on for miles and passed up a station because it only had 87 octane. After 5 miles or so I had a change of heart and went back to get 5 gallons of 87 octane. I'm glad I did because the next station with 91 was 26 miles away as I found out. So the I get a rock chip in the windshield by Vicksburg Mississippi it is small with 2 small cracks going sideways, it will probably grow one day as these things do. New Orleans was interesting and the rest of the trip was fairly uneventfull.
