I personally think the illuminated wind screens really take away from the class of the vehicle. They give it a cheap look. It is like advertising "hey look at my car it lights up in the back." Kind of like those light up air caps people get at walmart to put on their tires and draw attention to their hatchback civic A windscreen should blend, and not be the focus of your car. But this is just my opinion.
Also the fact that they do not restrict wind as well as others is just one more reason I will never buy one.
Thanks

me too. if i had a 'vert, it's not something i would buy.

i have a similar piece for my Wrangler, and i find that it's more "turbulent" with the screen up and the bikini top off than with the screen down.

Hi,

Being a six footer I have always found that the drivers seat has to be all the way back and even then I find the driving position a still cramped. This is the style of windbreak that I am after but I am worried that the additional inch or so lost by fitting this style of windbreak will make the situation even worse.

Looking at this unit if I have have a new bracket made or modify the existing one I can't see any reason why the windbreak can't fit behind the rollover hoop instead of between the headrest and roll over hoop?

Could you let me know if you think this is possible, if so then I will be buying one in the near future.

Does this unit make a vast difference because without a windbreak anything over 30 MPH is a problem.

Alan.

Hey Alan,

There is No loss of an inch, it is flush with the edge!

I've got a Brand New one of these, I haven't used yet & I'm thinking of Selling it. They Cost almost $500 Shipped from Europe with the D*** exchange rate with the Euro & US Dollar(going down the tubes)

I'm 6'-1" so I didn't want any seat loss. That's not a problem with this one. There is no seat loss at all. See how it fits over the wall behind the seats?

It helps tremendously with the wind. Of course nothing is going to help on a windy day with a cross wind.

Cool Re: Wind Restrictor

I purchased an OEM which only fills the area between the seats. It does a tremendous job of blocking wind below 50 mph and is adequate at speeds higher...it looks cool because it's made for the car...attached w/velcro and straps...$140 on the web...

Bill,

Thanks for the reply.

I have just checked and when the seat is fully back between the seats I can just manage to get a finger width in so I take your point about it being OK and I don’t think it will take much off the legroom.

I don’t wish to be ungrateful but I am from the UK and I can purchase one of these locally from www.tuningshop.co.uk for £191 ($382) delivered. I can also purchase one from www.ebay.de in Germany for around Euro 210 (£163 or $326) delivered to my door if the current price holds. Also Adamesh http://www.adamesh.co.uk/wind-deflec...fire-266-p.asp sell these for £165.75 ($332) delivered in the UK. Adamesh also deliver to the USA for around $418.

Thanks anyway for the advice

Alan.

Thanks I have seen this one but my local dealer in the UK has quoted me £210 ($420 against $140 in the USA) for one of these. My wife likes the look of the mesh unit though and it is her car after all.

As you know you never argue with a woman because you never win.

I am sure some agree with you and some don't. Some people like to look different than others and stand out from the crowd and some people like to blend in. I am glad because wouldn't it be boring if everyone liked the same stuff and looked the same! Cheap looking or becomes the focus humm.. well that could be said for any change from how the car came from the factory. As far as how well they restrict wind well that also is up to each users opinion once he has tried it. JMHO
