8.5 quarts of oil into an 8 quart vacuum can...
My Big Boy Top Sider came n I notice its capacity is 2 gallons. Do I need to pour out some oil from my Topsider to get that last half quart in, or does it turn into a blivit

My experiance and a few others on the forum has been that you will not get all 8.5 qts out. Its been reported that just under 8 qts. get removed. I can confirm this from my first oil change.
The reason I know this is that it took exactly 8 qts of new oil to re-fill it.
With that being said, I would still be prepared for a small bit of overflow just in case.
BTW, I drained my oil from the drain plug on the oil pan and not with a top-sider. Top-sider users have reported the same thing.
Hope that helps.
Good luck....

If your topsider starts to fill up, stop the flow and empty it. Then you can start over. That is what I do (mine is only ~6 quart).
I don't even think I got 8 quarts out. The filter sucks up some and there's always some left in the pan and I figure no matter how good the engine is over 7000 miles some of it has to get burned. Only took 8 quarts to refill when I did the oil change...also from the bottom.
Only got 3700 miles on my 06 so far but this is my question , is the bottom drain plug easily accesable behind the large plastic air managemnet cover?, I never looked yet.
