After all of the talk about the super-secret $500 Canadian DRL module, it hope you gents know that you can wire the foglights to be DRL's quite handily with a $39 kit purchased off the web. NBD (no big deal).

So tell me, 180, what was said before last November about $39 DRL fog lights? Seems rusty would like to know, too.

This information was listed in RED in the previous post:
2005 Crossfire part #s: Current Chrysler parts list
5098638AA NO DRL
5098639AA DRL
6 others for export
The same numbers are listed for the 2008, didn't bother asking about 06/07.not interested.
Now another fly in the ointment. This is a private email from a forum user who bought an automatic in Kansas and finally was able to get the DRL activated> US or Canadian part number????
Why don't you do some homework and tell us?
The continuing saga , of how to get this 2006 Roadster registered. As we
all know Chrysler Canada, won't honor the warranty. Chrysler USA, won't
either. Now the dealers in Canada, begin to hover like the vultures they
are. Bob you were kind enough to explain that daytime running lights
could be programmed by the dealer to be turned on, since our car was an
automatic. Transitiowne Dodge in New York, new nothing about doing this,
but offered to change the headlight switch for $600 dollars U.S.
Needless to say they did not get the business. Brought the car to Grant
Menzies Chrysler in Whitby Ontario, they said they were aware of how to
program the switch, and that they charged 90 dollars for the service.
Fair enough we said, go ahead, came back to pick up the car, and they
said they had programmed the car, but that the switch would need to be
replaced in order for the new programming to work! In other words they
did us for a 100 bucks, and to add insult to injury, they wanted another
600 dollars Canadian for the switch. This will cost them, as none of my
fatherr's 2 other Chryslers will ever be serviced there again.
Anyway, we took the car to a local stereo/alarm shop, who said,
daytime running lights, oh yeah no problem, 20 minutes later, we were on
the road with the lights working.(another 100 bucks)

I initiated contact with Rusty last night but it sounds like you have a cheap solution so I'll leave it to you.

I realize that you had mentioned the part numbers in your post yesterday but the parts list for 2004 lists a different number. You said you had no further interest in this subject, see the following, so I had to get other members who may be interested to verify the numbers.
The stereo shop fix used a module similar to the Canadian Tire one. That's the obvious conclusion for that scenario. No re-programing is required to get the lights to work, in fact no programing changes are required at all. Anyone who paid for programing changes got hosed.
Do I ever have anything positive to say or contribute?...........Nope.

Yes, he can use a relay or buy a DRL (relay) kit for the fogs, but the real question has been: How can he get the Canadian DRL's turned off without replacing the OEM switch? He may have to buy or swap out for a US switch, and then add a relay for DRL Fogs, unless someone has a better idea.
But if a relay is in the Canadian switch, then by removing the wire that energizes it when the car goes into drive then the headlights on function would be eliminated. Other lights may still be on but the fogs could be added using a separate relay.
