What is intermittent "beep"?
Occasionally I hear a "beep" which seems to come from the far left side of the instrument cluster. It occurs so rarely that I can't define a pattern or see if there is a warning light that accompanies the "beep". I can best describe it as similar to a radar detector warning beep but it only occurs once and then is silent....for a while.
Other than this minor irritant, my "new" Xfire is perfect in every way.
Any one have any ideas about the "beep"?
Thanks,
Roger

Are you seeing any display on the odometer other than miles when hearing the beep ??
Might be the FSS displaying data for a needed service interval

On checking the Repair manual there is mention of Rad fluid level, drivers door ajar, I may have had that as well, seat belt switch, high beam lamp and illumination control module fused ignition switch output(?).
It may come on when the FSS display changes, I have never seen this. There are probably other causes as well, my 300 beeps for all sorts of reasons.

Yea, your guess is as good as mine. I get it from time to time, too.
I've not found a low fluid level, now, once I had the oil level alarm going "HI", but it hasn't done that since I started using 8 (not 8 1/2) quarts at oil changes.
I get the beep at times, too. And I've had two Roadsters, the red one did it once or twice, the Graphite is doing it at least once a MONTH.

Who's guessing? Its in the repair manual, section 8B-2.
I call it a chime, the repair Manual calls it a chime, it is actually a beep and different from the annoying seat belt chime. It probably is just one tone from the seat belt chime.
Leave your door half open and listen.

I heard a beep in my roadster too. Actually was my smart phone warning me that the I was in a roaming area. When I realized what it was it stopped bothering me.
One of the many nanny' s on the car
Convertible top not fully down and latched or button pushed when moving or trying to put top down when below freezing or any of the others from above--the beep is the nanny fussing.

I've had the beep and it turned out to be because the toneau cover didn't lock up correctly when I put the top down. I put the top half up and down again and it went away. Does not happen often and it's only one beep and no time to look at the dash idiot lights.
Thanks for the replies but nothing seems to solve the problem.
I drove 800 miles in 12 hours yesterday.....Phoenix, AZ to Elko, NV..... I had the top up for 450 miles and heard the chime maybe 5 or 6 times. I put the top down in the late PM when I got into cooler weather and drove until midnight with it down and heard the chime another 5 or 6 times.
I thought for a while that it was associated with cruise control but I have heard it when driving in town or otherwise not in cruise control. As others have said, it happens so rarely and so quickly that it is impossible to catch an associated warning light but I don't think there is one.
Keep the ideas coming, guys.
P.S. I brought my Xfire to NV in preparation for the big rally in Reno in August. Anybody on this thread going?

Mines beeping too. I was wondering if it was related to hitting some preset speed limit as it seems to happen during acceleration.
When I get back in town, I'll check the fluid levels, check the battery date, and pull a terminal off to reset everything. There are no other indicators, just the beep.

Seems new member about a year ago had bought a roadster that kept beeping at him. I suggested the battery disconnect, and he reported back a happy camper that he had no more beeps..
Thanks to both for resurrecting this thread.
I've had my roadster out a lot this past week and have heard the "beep" several time on the road and around town.
Think I'll try the battery disconnect. Are there any concerns with doing that?
Thanks,
Roger
